Just deposited another 1000 points.

Glad to see the revised limit - IMO this is currently the only worthwhile travel award at the lower levels.

This makes me wish I'd kept dividing the points between my account and Mr. Kipper's account, rather than combining all of them into his account.

Whipped out the card, they went to scan the barcard like their regular gift cards and of course there isn't one. They asked "Is this a rewards card thing?" I said it was. Then the girl told me their system couldn't process the card. I'm like WHAT??!!! Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be just that one Subway? It was a fairly new restaurant. Then she tells me to keep my receipt...call some phone number, etc...I paid $32 out of my pocket! How the heck is calling a number going to get that back? Frustrating.

Sorry that happened. If it didn't scan the clerk should have entered the code on the card manually...

The Subway card is the SAME as if you bought one from Subway direxctly ... not a "Reward" card -- its a GIFT CARD.

Perhaps you should have had the SHIFT MANAGER take the cards and show the clerk how to do that transaction...

SOME of the MCR offers, ie domino Pizza for example, are only good at PARTICIPATING franchised shops ... could this have been a case, since you mentioned it was a new store.....

As for recouping the $32 -- you should call and speak to the manager and or corporate office... but whatever you decide ... GOOD LUCK.

Heads up for those you who shop at Safeway and want a good deal on Coke through the 20th.

Coke 12-pks are on sale B2G2F this week, and many stores have an in-ad store coupon for B2G3F. Per my earlier post, you can get all five for free (or nearly free if you live in a container deposit state) by doing the following.
  1. Redeem 200 MyCokeRewards points for (1) B1G1F coupon. You will be immediately be given a link to print your coupon. Copy it before clicking it in case something goes wrong or you need to print from another machine/browser (Mac users must use Safari).
  2. Click the link and print your coupon.
  3. Hit the back button on your browser (or if on a Mac, go directly back three pages to the "bricks" page) and print another coupon.
  4. Redeem both Coca-Cola manufacturer's coupons w/ or w/o the Safeway coupon by end of the day on Saturday for FREE or nearly-free Coke.
  5. Drink, enjoy. :)

Slight correction: the coupon that is printed in the Safeway ad is good for 4 days only - 12/17 - 12/20/08

Well they have the magnetic strip...but the ones sold in the restaurants and Sam's Club and such have a magnetic strip AND a barcode to use with a handscanner. Not sure why that would make any difference. All I know is they said they couldn't use it.

Thanks for the heads up John_OHST...was about to burn my points on junk ... now I just hope they keep them in stock for the next 10 months so I can redeem the 1000+ I've got.

Faye Dec 22, 2008 4:47 pm

get around the problem by buying a small amount $1?

from one of these places that has both. Go online at mysubway.com and merge your $25 one with the $1 one .

:confused:I have been searching the mcr, but I haven't been able to find anything for a Subway gift card except the sweepstake. Can we redeem points for Subway or Zaxby's gift cards?

Brendan Dec 23, 2008 10:05 am

Peach, the Subway GCs came back to MCR in Nov., then ran Out Of Stock (OOS) again :( ! But Priority Club (Holiday Inn) points are now available!

This is good news, and the item does state the "2 redemptions every 30 days" limit. Question: That is a revolving 30-days, and not a calendar month, I assume...

I didn't think about that. I was hoping it was per calendar month, so that Jan. 1, I could redeem for 2 more. :)

it started this month; as my account where i had maxed out on redemptions allowed me to redeem two more (in Dec)
