I've managed to collect a whopping 40 points over the course of the last month. What a complete waste of time.

englisha Jul 31, 2013 1:00 am

Finally hit 500 miles after about 3 months of clicking 5 miles at a time. Really not a productive use of my time and will be cancelling after they post

kipper Jul 31, 2013 9:20 am

I've kept my account for years, primarily because with very little effort (less than 5 minutes/week), I can pick up 1,000 miles or so in a year.

I understand the frustration of lack of earning opportunities and such, but why not just keep the account and check it once a month or so?

Salmontes Aug 1, 2013 11:46 am

Ever Notice?

That when you get a offer in your e-mail and you take a few days to check the offer out it is not showing up on your main page, only the previous offers that want you to donate?

It has happened to me twice these past few weeks.

Yes. It's enraging.

"Miles Earned This Month: 5"

LOLOL

e-miles expiration

Do they really expire your miles 1 year after they are earned?

===== from e-miles member agreement ===
Section 8) Expiration of e-Miles Miles

e-Miles miles not deposited or redeemed toward a selected redemption option expire one (1) year from when the e-Miles miles were earned. For example, e-Miles miles earned in January will expire in January of the following year if the e-Miles miles have been deposited. e-Miles miles earned in calendar year 2012 will be considered and treated as 1st quarter 2013 earnings.
e-Miles miles will expire if a member does not reply to one (1) or more earning opportunities each month.
At e-Miles' sole discretion, e-Miles may choose to waive or defer enforcement of the expiration of Member's e-Miles miles.

schmoove Oct 10, 2013 10:16 am

Got 500 miles 5 miles at a time, once they hit my RR account I'm probably done with emiles.

TTTTroll Oct 15, 2013 1:46 pm

How long does it take for US Airways Dividend miles to post in account once you have requested a deposit?

Between a month and 6 weeks, IIRC.

Points/miles are posted (sent from eMiles to your airline) at the end of the month (mine have always shown up in my air miles account within the first week of the next month) .... so it depends on when you did the redemption ....

E-miles [Master Thread]

Just donated $28 for 2,000 miles
Just donated $12 for 1,000 miles

.

You quoted the T&C; I just looked at my history back to 2007. I made no
deposits between 29 May 2009 and 29 Feb 2012 and lost no emiles.

thelostshark Jan 17, 2014 10:09 am

Seems like the last month or so the number of 5 point opportunities have slowed. I thought maybe it was due to the holidays, but so far it hasn't picked back up. Maybe it's just cyclical, but I'm within striking distance of an award. (Not sure why that gets me impatient. It's only 500 miles. And yet ... ) tls

thelostshark Jan 17, 2014 12:33 pm

Well, it happened once again. Not long after I post about the slow down in e-miles offers ... I get an e-miles offer. Perhaps I'll post more often! ;-) tls

beachmouse Jan 17, 2014 1:05 pm

Maybe if I grumble, my IHG points from early in the month will appear in my account then. I redeemed for those on January 2, and they're still listed as pending. In comparison, the e-Rewards I redeemed for on Jan. 3 showed up on January 8.

cuebert Jan 17, 2014 7:50 pm

E-miles does seem to have slowed down of late

They should post in early Feb. E-miles redemptions post early in the month following the one in which you redeem. Tls

Redeemed 500 e-Miles to my MileagePlus account on May 8th. Still don't see the miles in my MileagePlus account.:td:

Of all the FF programs MileagePlus seems to take the no matter what. I would love to know why!

E-miles does a sweep at the beginning of each month. Thus, a May 8 redemption should result in the miles showing up in your account in early June. tls

Brendan May 28, 2014 12:34 pm

+1 tls! JamieDee, expect 'em June 3.

I collected 700 Points on E-Miles...But my "Partner" is United - I want to transfer them to HHonors...Is that possible? The Customer-Support told me, they may change the Partner, but I will loose ALL my accumulated Points! Is that true?

Anybody tried this?

No, unfortunately, you can't actually "change to a different partner" .... what they are offering to do is, in reality, the same as cancelling the old account (thereby losing all accumulated points) and setting up a new account.

Also, there is no worthwhile way to transfer United air miles to HHonors points.

It's well documented here (and elsewhere; i.e. the e-Miles FAQ) that you need to join e-Miles using a signup offer from the place you want to receive the benefits; i.e. in your case, signup using Hilton as the partner.

blueeagle3 Jun 1, 2014 8:47 am

Thank you for the quick Reply!

So what I will do is collect the missing 300 Points, turn them to United Miles and cancel my account afterwards...Thanks for the Idea with signing up with another Partner!

FullTimeFlyer Jun 2, 2014 7:12 am

Anyone know if they send out the miles if you redeem the end of the month and it's a weekend? For UA, if it matters.

I realize it's all automated, but don't know if it's set up to go out on weekends, and I didn't have a chance to go redeem May's miles until late Saturday 5/31.

Doesn't matter in the end - they'll get there sometime - just curious.

thelostshark Jun 2, 2014 1:10 pm

No, can't say I ever redeemed on the last day of the month. But now you've got me curious, so please report back when you know whether they're posting this month or next! My HH points have already posted (today's the 2nd), so perhaps yours have as well??? tls

FullTimeFlyer Jun 3, 2014 8:53 am

No sign of them as of 6/3 so probably with the weekend redemption on last day of the month they probably missed the monthly sweep.

I have redeemed the last day of the month on a weekday before, though, and as I recall they made it.

Oh well, don't need them today.

FTF

MileageAddict Jun 3, 2014 12:27 pm

I have been doing E-Miles for years and have never had an issue with miles posting. BEst thing to do is put it out of your mind and simply check your account balance every so often. They'll post.

Agreed, although if they don't post in the next, oh, 2 or 3 days, they'll probably post early next month. tls

I had UA miles post today from emiles. I redeemed 3 weeks ago

FullTimeFlyer Jun 4, 2014 6:45 pm

O I've got an update and a correction

In fact, they did show up today - which is a bit later than I remember some months, but likely also associated with the way the end of the month falls in the weekly calendar.

So yup, even a weekend, 31st-of-the-month redemption makes it for the end-of-the-month sweep. Good news if you are too busy (or too forgetful ;)) to go through and do your offers M-F. ^

thelostshark Jul 17, 2014 1:40 pm

Well, e-miles has just changed its redemption policy for UA miles in some positive aspects. You can now redeem in 250 mile increments, and the miles credit immediately. The new terms are below (and fyi, I just redeemed for 250 miles, and it worked perfectly):

"We've partnered with United MileagePlus to provide real-time processing of your mileage transfer requests. No more waiting 4 to 6 weeks for the miles to appear in your MileagePlus account.

From now until August 31, 2014, you may redeem your e-Miles miles for MileagePlus award miles in increments of 250 miles instead of 500 miles.

Win back any e-Miles miles that may have been expired due to inactivity by engaging with and earning miles on 5 or more offers before August 1, 2014."

I also redeemed for 250 miles today and it posted immediately!

Brendan Jul 17, 2014 7:31 pm

I had 475 points as of June 30, so I paid $2 for a subscription to the Reader's Digest to have 500 to send over for the early-July sweep. To my pleasant surprise, they posted immediately :) ! I also got the same email today as Thelostshark did.
This is good news for Blueeagle3 who can now clean out his/her account of 750 miles instead of waiting to reach 1000, then start a new HHonors-earning account!

thelostshark Aug 6, 2014 9:00 am

Recently received 3 points. My account statement says "received email" from Groupon. I'm pretty sure that "received" is all I did with it (ie, I believe I didn't click on it because if I'm remembering correctly, it didn't state that you'd receive points for doing so).

The thing is, unless I get another 3 point email sometime (or at least a 2 point email), then those 3 points will never be worth anything really, since I'll always need a 5 pointer to get me over the redemption limit. I guess there are worse things that could happen than getting 3 points for doing nothing, but I hope this is not a sign that our 5 point emails will start becoming 3 pointers. tls

Brendan Aug 6, 2014 11:35 am

+1 TLS! I too got 3 points for Groupon, although I don't remember doing anything. It's the first time I ever got something not in a 5-point increment, so you're right: it's pretty worthless & meaningless!

beachmouse Aug 6, 2014 12:40 pm

Their shopping portal does have a few 2 or 3 points per dollar spent options.
