E-miles [Master Thread]

Anyone recieved a contact from e-miles, miles for minutes yet? They were supposed to start after the first of Jan.
Dave

artemis021 Jan 7, 2007 1:58 pm

Not me. I was wondering about that, too. I assume it'll get up and running soon.

mtcrawford Jan 7, 2007 4:35 pm

Still waiting as well.

dbuckho Jan 8, 2007 4:18 am

Received an invite from Northwest @ 11 PM Pacific time yesterday.

to join or do a survey?

Kaz Jan 8, 2007 8:07 am

I received an invitation to join this morning, you get 100 miles for the 3-5 minutes it takes to signup. They said that surveys will not start until mid-January.

It's not clear that you need an invitation, here's the link to signup

pjrice Jan 8, 2007 8:23 am

I joined in December and signed my niece up for a NW account. She received an invite from NWA today to sign up for e-miles (via my e-mail) but I did not. I think that NWA did not send me an invite because I already signed up for e-miles.

MBienstock Jan 8, 2007 9:42 am

I just joined using the link included in Kaz's post.

TommyD2 Jan 8, 2007 9:42 am

I received the NW email today, and went to sign up.

Apparently I had already signed up w/ my NW FF #.

Also, my balance is 295 pts. Just looked at my statement, and I received 100 pts on 11/08/2006 for signing up, and 195 today for 'Marketing Messages', which I can only assume is for the NW email asking me to sign up

dbuckho Jan 8, 2007 12:46 pm

Mine was to join. After signing up - found the threads about folks on here who signed up weeks ago - so did not realize the original question was asking if anyone had received a survey. The confirmation email after signup said surveys will start mid-January.

roadtripman Jan 8, 2007 8:29 pm

still waiting...

I joined on December 3 via the link on Gary Stieger's FFFM site. I recieved 100 miles for joining and another 195 for doing the initial interest surveys.

Still no word from them....

mbreuer Jan 9, 2007 8:38 am

There's a link this morning on co.com OP news and offers.

oldpenny16 Jan 9, 2007 8:49 am

Is this worth doing?

cordelli Jan 9, 2007 9:15 am

Delta just sent an invite too.

You can join directly without an invite at e-miles.com for CO, NY, Delta, and USAir

pushback Jan 9, 2007 11:31 am

Has there been any word on when they might do AA miles?

FlyerInCmh Jan 10, 2007 9:57 pm

I got an email from NW offering 250 miles to join. I wonder if CO will send an email of the same offer. I'd rather join via CO since it's my main FF account.

pjrice Jan 10, 2007 10:59 pm

I think you can just log onto emiles and join without the invitation (I did) and I still got the 250 miles. I also filled out the questionaire and received an extra 120 miles so I have 370 credits thus far. I logged on today to check my account and there was a message stating to check back soon for more opportunities to earn miles.

hal0712 Jan 11, 2007 1:15 pm

I joined this emilesprogram back when I first read this thread just before the holidays, did a few of the surveys and have a few hundred points. I also choice Northwest WPerks for my mileage accreditation. Then suddenly today, weeks later, I get this email from Northwest inviting me to join the emiles program!! Does the right hand know what the left hand..etcc??

Does anyone know when points accrued in Dec. 2006 actually accredit to your mileage program of choice? Does anyone know if you can actually ever switch mileage programs you want to use for crediting of the emiles surveys?

You need to get 500 miles for them to transfer, and I think they transfer every quarter.

OMG! I totallllly forgot about this gig and had already joined at some point before the new year. Cant even remember when now but I have to dig up whatever I had saved on it.

Anyway, I remembered my password and logged in to get this message below where it says I have 295 points so far:

As a Member of e-Miles®, you earn Northwest Airlines® WorldPerks® miles — simply for responding to marketing messages tailored to your interests!

You have completed all of your current earning opportunities.

Please check often for new earning opportunities.

I don't like the "Please check often for new earning opportunities" line really.

So um, like WHEN?? And how does one GET to 500+?

I did notice this in a section called Account Information:

Q. Why am I not receiving e-mail from e-Miles? -
If you, or your ISP, use spam filtering software, e-mail from e-Miles may be mistakenly identified as spam and not delivered to your inbox. To ensure that e-Miles e-mail isn't confused with spam, add the following e-mail addresses to your address book and list of Trusted Senders:

BTW, why isnt this thread in MilesBuzz since it deals with miles on a few airlines? Just curious?

The site has stated that they will not really be up and running till after the beginning of 2007. That is now, so I assume that we will begin to get earning opportunities soon.

Lurker1999 Jan 12, 2007 8:32 am

310 miles for your profile and filling in all of the interest questionnaires. That's not a lot but we'll see what happens after this point in time. I'd guess they're looking for people with "High interest" in things..

cordelli Jan 12, 2007 3:24 pm

They just sent a mail giving you 10 miles for adding them to your addresa book and safe senders list, that links to a survey with more miles

I just got the same email. Let's hope the email survey's start coming ;)

massiek Jan 12, 2007 7:51 pm

I've got 305 miles in my account, and the part that has me wondering is when e-miles says,

"Miles will be deposited into your preferred airline's frequent flyer account in increments of 500 miles automatically at the end of each quarter. "

I'm optimistic, but time will tell if this pans out.....

Dudemon Jan 12, 2007 10:15 pm

No one will be getting the 100 miles until they have at least 500 miles in their e-miles account. The T&Cs say that the miles are transferred quarterly to your airline in groups of 500.

dbmaury Jan 22, 2007 7:45 pm

I got an email today for a survey about pets for 15 miles. Relatively painless and ekes me closer to 500 miles.

jayson Jan 22, 2007 8:37 pm

Not worth it

Seems like a waste. Take a survey and get 10 or 15 miles? Not worth it, IMHO.

Better option is e-surveys where for 15 or 20 minutes you can earn $5 or $10. You can then use this to buy a $25 e-cert from NWA.

I'd spend my time on the other site.

Ditto, I just did the same survey. Took about three minutes. About five miles per minute. Easy.

Are you so busy that a 5 minute survey for 20 or 25 miles is not worth your time? Can't do them while you are downloading other email etc.? Why not do both e-rewards and e-miles?

IMHO many peoples' experience with e rewards is that they often fail to post and that makes it worth LESS to me! In fact anything like that makes a mile worthless in most cases, as it becomes a costly pain in the %#!#@! to get that mile! maybe some of you have had no probs with erewards but I sure have and so I avoid them and delete their constantly incoming spam emails.

Conversely, the e miles thing seems ok to me...
It's just new and slow, right now, but I will give it a chance. hey, I got a whopping 320 miles now! hahahaha ;)

I did get this from them monday, though:

But, you can get only one e-cert per year (or one milage award). And IIRCC, there are a lot of restrictions on its use. On the other hand, the e-miles program is an ongoing thing and you keep earning all year long.

SingaPaul Jan 23, 2007 10:03 am

Received an invite sometime last year... But ignored it... And just got another invite from NW again... And since my NW has been in active for a long long time... I thot why not... Gathered 300+ points so far... Hopefully, that will keep the NW account going...

Sidetrack a little... Is there a summary on the policy enforce by different FF programs regarding inactive account?

I know SQ's miles would expire, UA would requires activities within a timeframe of 18 month to prevent miles from expiring, and NW seems to be the only one that just keep going and going like the energizer rabbit.

OutOfOffice Jan 23, 2007 3:09 pm

Ignored the invitation a couple of weeks ago for NW. Just got an offer to earn CO onepass miles and bit the bullet. Didn't take that long to answer all the initial surveys and get my 295 mile balance.

I thought these guys only transferred points to the airline after you hit 500.
