Yeah, the Peanut Labs bait and switch is also similar to Opinion Miles (United Airlines).
If you look at the "Transactions" section of emiles/Peanut Labs page and click on the ones that say "Credited Survey", a popup appears with some useful info including quantity of points, date, transaction ID. I've started taking screenshots of those (using Jing from TechSmith, free software from the makers of Snagit) to be able to check whether (eventually) they all post. Each popup also provides a way of reporting problems with posting. |
E-Miles Is Very Disappointing
Spent nearly 30 minutes trying to get even five points through Peanut Labs this morning and received nothing. In the beginning, I was able to get quite a few points each day but this has become a waste of time. If they want my business they will have to do better than this.
|
I click one or two a day tops, and am able to complete them about 70% of the time.
Even when they say twenty minutes, I seem to be able to burn through them in five to seven minutes. So far I have earned about 900 miles this month through it. My 500 mile transfer did go through ok after a week. Not as good as erewards, for sure. |

They got lots of info on shopping habits among several well-known chains already. :td: |
Hum.

Well, e-Miles never responded to the Better Business Bureau re my complaint. I note that this fine company has 115 complaints against them at the Dallas BBB site, and a grade of D-

Just got an emails saying you can get 20 e-miles if you take an advantage of a free subscription to Better Homes and Gardens. And they make a point to note that you don't need a credit card. I'm not sure giving out my address to BH&G is worth 20 miles .... but it is an interesting comment on the state of the magazine business. tls

Oh crap, did I just screw up
I just went to redeem some of my wife's e-miles (I'm her official Mile Manager:) and decided to put some in her AA account. She'd never done AA and so I had to put her number in. I screwed up and sent them to my account instead.
Did I just mess up big time, in that some computer is going to flag this and we'll be in account hell? Or did I mess up small time, in that the miles will just disappear, rejected due to the name mismatch? Or will I be presently surprised and no one cares who owns the FF account? Anyone have any experience on this? FTF |
E-miles [Master Thread]
Do you have two Emiles accounts? Is your other account depositing points into your AA as well?
You might get an email from them saying you cannot have two accounts, and they'll ask you to shut down one. Yeah, you kinda F'd up big time |
My wife and I both have accounts and I mix and match redemption's all the time and have never had an issue. From what I know as long as the last names are the same they go through - mine always have.

You guys are confusing me, as far as I know, once you enter a FF number, you cannot enter a different account number "to go back and forth between accounts"
Are you talking about erewards? |

Yeah, you kinda F'd up big time (Mrs FTF has all the airlines because she was originally DL, so she got them all when DL pulled out.) Mauibaby, that would answer your question I hope. There are some people who can enter and redeem for more than one airline in e-miles, and that's what I'm referring to. She'd never put her AA account in, so it wasn't a change. Just a goof up. FTF |

I have one account in my name and one for Mrs FTF. Your question gives me a ray of hope (as does even more so bj2757's response below, of course). I've never redeemed from my account for AA - all my redemptions are for UA as I originally signed up through CO and so my account is locked to just UA among airlines. So maybe since no one ever used that AA account it's no big deal.

FTF It is not exactly the same situation, but I had no problem redeeming UA miles from my mother's account to my UA FF #. Like your wife, I have a former Delta e-miles account that now has multiple airline redemption options, and when I tried to redeem miles from that account to United, I think I got an error message when I tried to add my United FF #, since my mother's e-miles account was already linked to that United account. Later, I cancelled my mother's e-miles account and was able to redeem from my e-miles account to my United account. So, IME, it seems like the only thing they are checking is that a single FF account is not linked to more than one e-miles account. |

I no longer see a link to the Peanuts Lab survey. Is it just me or did anyone else notice this?

Might be a bad Question, but I am having two E-Miles Accounts (shame on me) and wanted to transfer Points to Hilton - but the System says the Number is already registred (which is true, as I used Account 1 to do a transfer already)...
Is there any Hint on how to get Points from two different E-Miles Accounts to one HHonors Account? |

Is there any Hint on how to get Points from two different E-Miles Accounts to one HHonors Account? I do not think it will be possible for you to that. Good luck though |

e-miles, as far as I know, locks the account number to one account. Just like MyPoints.

Just got to 250 points after 6 weeks of clicking on anything that didn't cost anything. Certainly not the fastest way to get points, but very painless, that is for sure.

I noticed a subtle change - at least to the offers I have been receiving. I used to get charity offers - donate $20 (or so) and get 1,000 bonus miles and 250 a month for up to six months (the amounts varied). I used to keep one of those running all the time - I give to various charities anyway so might as well get some miles - and some were a pretty good deal. Always had to fight with eMiles to get the miles, but I always did. I would not bite on most of them until I found one that was a good charity for a good number of miles. Now, for at least the last 6 months I haven't received any offers like that.
Is anyone still getting them? |
I've figured that any charity that is so desperate for donations that it resorts to e-Miles is probably a charity that has such high operating expenses relative to what is given to the cause that I do not want to donate. I've not actually looked at the filings for any of the charities to see what percentage goes to the cause, however. I just think of this kind of marketing as being a red flag.
|
One of those used to be the World Wildlife Fund. They used to have these "Earn X miles for your donation of Y for three months!" where the cost of the donation was about 2cpm if not less to earn the miles.

I still am getting charity offers, but I had not made any charity donations through e-miles until last month. During December, the e-miles awarded were doubled, and there were lots of offers. I have not received as many offers in January, but I assume this is somewhat cyclical, since people are more inclined to increase donations in December for tax benefits.

I received my monthly activity statement yesterday. It said there are surveys?? Has anyone ever actually seen where those are listed?

This is what mine looks like. I just don't see it... Maybe it isn't there for everyone?

Still nothing. Can someone post a screen shot of how it looks for them?

However, I'll offer some words of caution about completing surveys on this website. I just sent this email message to E-Miles customer service:
"Dear e-miles staff: I write with a question about completing surveys on your website. When I visited the page <http://www.e-miles.com/pro.do?ft=EMIPPF74QV4NM53 >, I clicked on the link to a survey that required 10 minutes of my time located at <https://surveys.ipsosinteractive.com/surveys/25b6acb2-de68-11e2-a28f-0800200c9a66>. After completing the qualifying questions, I received a screen message that included in part, "Please fill out the following survey, which should take up to 40 minutes to complete.” I refuse to participate in deceptive, bait and switch tactics such as this. As the former chair of a research university Institutional Review Board, this is an unethical practice and I plan to report it to the professional associations for commercial survey research. Will these deceptive practices be stopped, or should I cancel my account? I look forward to your reply. " |

How long does it take for miles to post after a purchase?
|
For those you wonder how long it takes miles to post after you purchase something (for example I did a Groupon for 20% off +3emiles/dollar), here was the response.
"There is a 45 business day waiting period for the credit to be reflected in your account; as mentioned in the offer the 45 days begins after the close of the month in which the order was placed." That means - it can be up to 3 months. Personally, it's not a big deal for me. However, if you are counting on the purchase to put you over the top in a short time frame, I'd plan accordingly. |

Annoyance of the day- I was at 497 miles and I think they do a single sweep for IHG redemptions at the end of the month.
Solution- scroll down to 'recent offers' or something like that and just keep clicking on links until I find another 5 pointer, meaning that my 500 miles for 750 IHG points is hopefully on the way shortly. |
I joined up recently and completed numerous surveys last night but today I checked my survey history section and Ithe states I have only completed one survey even though I saw after each survey the congratulations page, is this normal for e mlies or something you get used to?
