Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Check the seatmap for your flight via 'manage my booking' on the QR website. I expect that BOS will not get this seat till much later as it has been announced that the routes to/from London, NewYork and Paris will first get it.

IF a new A350 is delivered by August and IF it has Qsuites fitted and IF it its schedule has it on your flight that day then you will have a Qsuite aircraft. Otherwise, it seems to be almost certain that you will not!

Dr. HFH There are still the B787s to be retrofitted with a revised version of the Qsuites. By that time the A330s and A340s will be approaching the end of their useful life for QR and will begin leaving the fleet being replaced by more modern aircraft.
So yes you are very probably out of luck with that aircraft type. But what will replace the A346s?

natcin SIN has the most modern aircraft available as makrom says. Why is that a bummer?
Just because the Qsuites are new does not mean they are better than the A350 seats just different.
From the discussions going on on this thread you may even be better off!

i actually do know and realize that was actually more of a knee jerk reply, more than anything, seeing remdk saying the a350 will be the last to get the new(er) seats!
will be on my first QR business flight in 3 weeks on the a350 and couldnt be more excited! of course if they fly two kinds of aircraft ex-SIN then one surely wouldnt complain from the availability of choices but i guess thats just being (too) greedy

Flown QR business ex-SIN on the A350 many times. It's a great product! if you're taking the night flight from Changi visit the Qantas lounge in T1, as opposed to the 3rd party lounge in T3 that Qatar has a tie up with. The Qantas lounge is really good! Have a good flight.

I'd plan about 10-15min for getting from T1 to T3 with the skytrain.

ah crap checked the qantas site and the qantas lounge only opens at 230pm.
dont think i can access the BA lounge as i do not have oneworld status.
ill just have to 'settle' for the dnata lounge then.

2) They'll probably start retrofitting of A359 in the coming months. The 77L will probably have to wait for its turn until they have enough expertise to retrofit within a couple of weeks rather than a couple of months. They don't have many 77L and probably can't offord too much down time.
