Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Trying to to decide between 1EF and 9EF (couples seats) on the A359 qsuites. While I assigned ourselves 1EF, are these bassinet seats and could we get kicked out? Would 9 EF be better? I notice also that 1EF is closer to the toilets in business. Is this an issue? Similarly, 9EF is closer to the toilets in economy. Only these two EF pairs are available. I remember this being discussed previously but my search skills are not yielding results. Thanks for any help.

What are the odds.
QR124 MXP-DOH 99% of the time served by 788 or 789. The day of my flight (30/03), switched to a 351. Also 29/03 and 31/03.
Not very confident that it will hold. Unless there is an event in Milano that I'm missing (not fashion week)

Waiting to board our Qsuite Flight at DFW-DOH, and just found out they switched out the aircraft on our next flight to CPT to the old business class 2-2-2. This is the second aircraft change on our itinerary. It really does seem like they are baiting and switching people on purpose instead of it being a mishap here and there. I will stick to Emirates from here on out.

ehrm … i just boarded and this has got to be the hardest, most uncomfortable seat i’ve sat in in a loooong time. i’m really not sure how QR is allowed to get away with this.

I've always liked the seat and the legroom! The only negative for me was the lack of personal storage. Everyone one is entitled to their opinion however I think you are being overly critical because you expected a private Qsuite which I agree that is definitely not. Being so extremely uncomfortable, I completely disagree.

in conclusion though, this is just a trash product and i wish i had kept my outbound flight with EY. menu is pretty lackluster too.

the legroom is fantastic. i agree. but the privacy is 0, i have no place to put my belongings, the outlets are terribly located where i can’t charge and use my phone at the same time since my cord isn’t really long enough to comfortably reach my hands when i’m seated upright, and the seat is just a rock! perhaps the latter is just a me issue though as the padding might be more padded on other seats.

That said what a total disappointing let down to think Q Suites and then get that seat and have to sit next to someone.
I feel like if you go for A350-1000 route you minimize the chance of 777 swaps but I guess they can still move a 2-2-2 777 on a A350-1 listed flight.

Flew Sat evening LHR-DOH. Online check-in 24 hours earlier showed Q-suites, informed at LHR it was a B777 2-2-2 config.
What we lost in privacy was made up in personal space & lack of foot coffins.
There are bigger things to worry about.
Excellent service, drinks & dinner in the LHR Premium lounge before the flight by the way.
