Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

What is the downgrade at ORD? I thought they always flew the 777 with QSuites out of ORD.

My Flight to Tokyo NRT in April just changed from 2-2-2 to the A350-1000 Qsuite, hope it stays that way.

Hey Qatar...

Emirates has to pay traveler $8,440 over misleading ads

New Zealand’s Disputes Tribunal has ordered Emirates to pay a man 13,555 NZD (~8,440 USD) after he challenged the airline for its advertising in New Zealand. Specifically, a man named Mark Morgan splurged on business class for a trip from New Zealand to the United Kingdom that he and his wife were taking.

Morgan claims to have seen advertising for flat bed seats featuring minibars and updated entertainment systems. It’s not entirely clear if the ads he was seeing were for Emirates’ A380 business class, featuring direct aisle access from every seat…

Seems comparable to the QSuites changes!

Oh yes, the B777 "old" 2-2-2 seats and the A320 with recliners you can´t find on the QR website, when you check out the business class description. Just QSuite and the 1-2-1 config is shown.

Data point: AMS-DOH (QR274) in mid-APR swapped from Qsuite to 2-2-2. Well aware that it could revert back as the flight is relatively far out in QR terms, but was successful in changing to a Qsuite flight from LHR (after some initial pushback) on the same day. Used online chat.

Reverts back to 777 from 2nd May according to EF; hopefully they extend it beyond then.

So who has an egg timer for how soon Qatar faces litigation about QSuites? Asking for a friend!

I'm reading that Qatar lets you switch flights once if you lose the QSuites? Is that correct? I have a flight booked with AA miles from SFO-ORD (on AA) then ORD-DOH (on QR) on one ticket. Would I be able to book on the SFO-DOH flight on QR? Thanks.
