Xmas Function

QF WP, I'm off to BNE on the 30th Nov.

I am travelling via SYD, in on QF454 (18:50) and out on QF550 (19:35). Does not give a lot of time but I should be able to drop in for 20 mins and a couple of HP's* before boarding.

It'd be interesting to meet some of you guys.

*or equivalent, HP's can be dangerous

Have seen mention of these HP's a few times , so whos gonna tell me what they are ??

1. Upcoming 3rd Annual BNE QP meeting (Feb 05) - preliminary discussions over a HP.

A couple of unknowns:

swissmich - You've arrived in MEL (welcome!), are you going to try and attend BNE or SYD - maybe wait for MEL to be organised??

Anybody that I have missed (or not put in their status or flight details) please advise to this thread and I'll update the list.

Finally, for those who are NB, PS or Gold (or any other airline FF for that matter!!) and not flying on that day - don't worry!! There are enough Plats at each meeting to get everybody in (as we can take 2 guests in each and none of us have to be flying). In fact in Sydney, Plats could take in 4 guests - two per entrance. so we can really make this quite a party...

For anybody going to drop in (if you haven't got auto entry from a flight that day or Plat), make sure you page "Rod Speed" or "Dave Noble" to make sure we come and get you

Let's see, QF 550 is due out at 1935, so boarding will commence at 1915. Final call in the QP will be at 1920. The *special call* kept JUST FOR YOU will be at 1932 (or thereabouts).

Heaps of time for a few drinks in the QP.

You and I owe each other a round anyway after out spat over on AFF!

What is even more depressing is I asked my partner who is an Australian what it could stand for and she said no idea live and learn I am really looking forward to been poured into a taxi.

With a little bit of luck the inbound will be on time or early and dock at gates 4, 5 or 6. Maybe my BNE journey will be delayed and/or dock nearby.

At this forum at least; paid original QP membership in October '94, renewed '95 and this is still under suspension .

Ahh, just a wee tot I see . Just like James Bond, anything other than a 00 number does not count . I had two Mini NM's by October 94! But a lot less grey hairs back then as well .

Good news QF WP, my AA waitlist has cleared and I am back in BNE on Wednesday morning (8th December). But, I have just found out that Mini NM #3 has a ballet recital on 8th and 9th evenings and either Mrs NM or I should attend each night (we are not both going each night since they are extorting $25 per ticket!). So I might be bringing Mini NM#1 and 2 with me rather than leave them with MIL , and doing the ballet thing on 9th. Unfortunately they are not old enough to send a gofors to the bar for fresh supplies . But they will find the whole exercise very amusing .

Single 0 I may be, but that doesn't prevent those grey hairs. They began on my whiskers and are starting to work their way around and up. Mrs Serfty reckons it's all because of 10 years of QP air and all that goes with it.

I know it can't be HP's, they haven't been available in QP's that long. Maybe it's the Cooper's Sparkling Ale that Alan ("it's the best beer in Australia") used to serve in ADL QP.

Yes, I am still contemplating my navel.. uh I mean options my hope that some cheapies would open up was a pretty slim one but I'm going back to the bank manager to see what we can come up with since I really want to attend. I love the SYD QP FT corner

(incidently dave, I could have got the 1400 or 1430, but don't want to be sitting around SYD for hours with no QP access until all the plats show up aft 1730... not to mention I also have to work on Tuesday.. hence my not jumping in on an earlier flight).

As it turns out I'm booked on QF546 Tue 30 Nov 18:35 SYD-BNE and would very much enjoy getting to know fellow QF FT's over a few HP's or 10
Since joining FT in April this year and mostly lurking I've found it hard not to log on here at least once a day Not to mention the incredible amount of information I've absorbed from the knowledgebase on this forum. ^

Current plans would have me at the SYD QP at 4pm (travelling by Taxi from Surry Hills area if anyone needs a lift) and of course as I'm only a PS and won't be SG until around mid Jan (yep I've burned my comp QP pass) I'll need to be added to the growing list for QP access. The BNE meeting is so far not an option for me even though I'm not returning to SYD until 13/12. Family commitments at this stage look like prohibiting me from attending...but plans can and do change....often

But the Hahn Ice was available in the MEL QP long before HP was around. By the way, Coopers is available here in Fort Worth at The Flying Saucer at 7th and Commerce - along with about 150 other beers! Maybe we should host a QF FT gathering here?

Oh my! thank you for reminding me! I still have my comp QP pass for making SILVER. I just have to find it, and then I can get up there and wait for you guys!

I was about to book Vermin, but might reconsider an earlier flight now!
