If the image in the pamphlet (of an adult) is pornographic on its face, then so is every single image generated by a WBI, including those of children.
No way anyone can be arrested for pornography 'cause these are the same pictures that the TSA is supposed to be displaying on the alleged signage.

If a perfect world, if you are arrested at an airport for distribution of pornography, you can walk right over to the entrance to WBI and show the arresting officer the TSA's signage with the same images.

In our world, however, the sign will be replaced with one with a Walmart smiley face clone, touting the softer lower resolution images...

To give credit where it is due, newhaven is the one who wrote the pamphlet with the images in it that we are discussing now.

Thanks for the correction, you shine in the light of reflected credit.^

Copy and paste, probably the greatest innovation since movable type.

There are also graphic images on TSA's own web site. Or at least there were -- if they disappear, I have copies.

trollkiller also has copies & will put them on your t-shirt.

I just want to say how elated I am that people are constructively discussing planning what I predict will ultimately become a cornerstone of a nationwide campaign against the erosion of civil liberties and freedom in society. My sincere thanks to those who have started educating others on the dangers of WBI. In this upside down world, you are the real heroes of freedom and the people that society should be thanking for their service.

In addition, American grammar rules are different than those used by some British higher education institutions (Brits would place the period outside the quote).
In this particular case I believe the quote marks are being used to emphasize the words "Opt Out", and not as actual quotes.

MIA

I had a customer in today who is the QA Manager for an FAA repair shop at MIA.

We got to talking about TSA and security in general, and he tells me it's like a prison down there. The mechanics are pissed, having to use several ID devices just to get to lunch and back. They are randomly searched by TSA and generally harassed. He tells me that Miami Police are generally good guys with training and common sense, and nearly all the TSA are A-Holes on a power trip. The mechanics and other workers at MIA all know about the nude-o-scopes and are quite perturbed about them.

His unsolicited comment (him being a naturalized American) is that America is going to S*** and becoming a police state, like where he escaped from (Cuba). I have to agree.

I showed him newhaven's tri-fold flier, and he asked me for some. I sent him and his wife away with about 50 of them, and he promised to distribute them and show them around. I gave him a few suggestions, like bathrooms and tourist literature kiosks, and he said he would duplicate them if he ran out.

I told him that revisions were planned and he asked me to email him with the latest revisions and they become available.

BIG THUMBS UP FOR NEWHAVEN ^

Hooray for the first round! This can't be anything but good!^

EPIC Challenge to Airport Body Scanner Program Moves Forward in Federal Court

Latest News:

The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has set a briefing schedule for EPIC v. DHS, No. 10-1157, EPIC's challenge to the airport body scanner program. EPIC has alleged that that the Department of Homeland Security has violated three federal laws (the Administrative Procedures Act, the Privacy Act, and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act) and that the body scanner search itself is unconstitutional, given what the courts have said about the permissible scope of airport screening procedures. EPIC's initial brief will be due November 1, 2010. Subsequent briefs from DHS and EPIC will be due by December 15, 2010. In earlier open government litigation against DHS, EPIC obtained evidence that the devices are designed to store and record images

A Big THUMBS UP for Marc Rotenberg and the guys & gals at EPIC!^^^

The NoS website is now up and running! For those of you not familiar with it, please visit www.nudeoscope.com

I've put up copies of the NoS brochure, and will be working on it more this weekend, making it more user friendly. I'll also be adding links to EPIC, FT, etc... In the mean time, if you have any suggestions for text, please don't hesitate to let me know. We'd love the feedback!

Thanks,

idea: when talking about the risk of theft when you can't see your belongings, mention that the TSA is also likely to steal your items. And cite the 200+ arrests of TSA agents mentioned on the TSA's own site.
