route changes
New BA flights LHR - LAS as this thread, but have not checked when this happened / will happen
LAS LHR shows up an error in this intineray over on AFF Also other new BA routes here QF have stopped domestic New Zealand flights (replaced by Jetstar NZ:- owned by Qantas but not a OW airline). So no AKL-WLG AKL-CHC ROT-CHC CHC-ZNQ and others as this thread |
A minor tweak needed as in this thread.

Looks most interesting, Mileage monkey has HKG-CGK as 2-class though, is this incorrect?

I need to get SLF some updated zone info for the award calculator.. eg many programs have increased mileage for certain zones; some countries have changed zones for different programs, etc.
|
Another minor tweak needed.

AA have added seasonal ORD-ANC flights over Summer 2010.

We have booking on both the following segments:

ORD-FCO is now seasonal.

MX joins OW
Guess somebody now needs to add all the MX flights to the tool's database
(and NO, I'm not volunteering;)) |
two depature/arrival exception for US origin
MileageMonkey 0.95022 can not validate a following itinerary containing two departures/arrivals in a country of origin of US exception case.
I have checked oneworld.com online booking tool for validating this routing. JFK-xMIA-SJO-xMIA-LHR-HKG-JFK |
Apologies to those who've highlighted issues which I've not attended to - I have been quite neglectful :(
The main challenge with MM is getting updated data. This seems difficult to obtain, but if anyone's able to offer assistance then I'm all ears. Secondly, something hauteboy & I briefly discussed last year was moving the code to a cloud based source repository (e.g. Sourceforge) which could help the tool grow. Although I've used various version control tools, I'm not 100% sure of what's involved in setting a project up. Please feel free to PM me with any suggestions, or post in this thread. |

As per Moomba's post, ORD-ANC vv is being run by AA over summer.

I'm getting withdrawal without the Monkey! Good luck in finding a new home, and hope it's back online soon.
Thanks for providing such a great tool to the FT community. |
Back up again .. now on new & improved hosting
All,
Thanks for all the kind offers to help out with hosting! I've needed this little push but I've now completed moving it to a new location ... http://www.slfft.org/ This one I'm paying for so hopefully won't suffer the same fate as the 'free' ones. We did get a good run for our money ($0) out of allhyper .. :) Note that only the "current" 0.95022 link on that page works at the moment, I'll restore older versions if there is any requirement for them. thanks, SLF |
If you get itchy feet, or need to find hosting at some future date, let me know - I'll see what we can do (would love to be able to give something back to what is a really useful - free - service).

Mileage Monkey is a wonderfully useful tool.
Two corrections: It states that oneWorld do not fly LHR-RUH. BA do five times a week with 4 classes of service. It shows HKG-SIN as having no First Class. CX currently offer it on two flights per week. |

Something I have also noticed is that ISU (Sulaimaniyah International Airport) is an "unknown city." |
MM routes & rules are now many months out of date
Last update was 15 May 2009 http://www.slfft.org/0.95022/award.htm |
0.95024 is available for testing

couple of minor - RJ has j on bkk-amm, QF will soon be flying jwy 744 on syd-per

Other cabins I know I'm missing (and have assumed are Y only for now) are below. If anyone can tell me what cabins the below aircraft have (the routes shown are an example of where they are used) then I can get that fixed for all routes using those aircraft. Code:
ABA-DME:S7 319 |
The new ORD-HKG route on CX is showing as invalid. It is in the schedules now but doesn't start operating until Sept 1st. Do the flights have to actually be 'in service' now for this tool to pick them up? |

I've also addressed the earlier comments re SIN-BKK, SYD-PER/744, ISU, RUH, HKG-SIN/F, AMM-BKK/j and gcmap (many thanks!) What's been interesting to see is that most of the different sources of information have their own inaccuracies & limitations; i.e. missing routes, incorrect aircraft types etc. At least we can get MM updated when we see these issues :) As ever, do a shift-reload or whatever your browser needs to force a full reload of MileageMonkey after each change, otherwise you might be using cached data. |

Thanks Moomba, yeah .. flights are pretty much current. I've added in ORD-HKG and back with CX 77A equipment, so that should help. It's relatively easy to add new routes & aircraft in; I just need to know about them - so thanks!
Now how about seasonal flights? For the last couple of summer seasons AA have added a ORD-ANC flight using the 757. :) |

QF is starting SYD-DFW with 744ER. Return goes via BNE.
QF is dropping SYD-SFO. QF is starting 3 class (jwy) on SYD-NRT and SYD-SIN-FRA. |

QF is dropping SYD-SFO. QF is starting 3 class (jwy) on SYD-NRT and SYD-SIN-FRA. I'm not familiar with QF's W plans .. is that NRT/FRA 3-class using a different aircraft type? What's happening there? Are they changing from fjy to jwy, or something else? MM works the cabins by assuming an aircraft type (e.g. 773 or 744) has a fixed configuration per airline (i.e. 744 is always fjwy), so if the aircraft type 744 maps to different configs (e.g. fjwy, jwy) then it means either a lot of manual tweaking, or we just live with it. BTW, it is probably most useful for people who use MM to know that a given route no longer has F, rather than if a JWY config is being introduced (i.e. to complement an existing FJWY service). (I assume!). I've no real idea what QF's plans are on these routes, so having this feedback is great! |

The 4 class 744s will be getting reconfigged into 3 class (jwy - dropping f) as more 388s come online. At the moment, QF has 5 different configs of 744. 3x 4 class, 1x 3 class and 1x 2 class. By the end of next year, the current plans are to only have 3 class 744s - jwy and QF will only have F on 388 routes. |
Great to see the tool being updated SLF, something we all appreciate!

The QF 2 class 744s (jy) are currently being refitted into 3 class (jwy). They don't have any 744 fjy. These will be used mainly on SYD-NRT and SYD-SIN-FRA (though there are a few temporary changes coming due to the situation in Japan which will see the NRT 744 used on BNE-SIN for a short time).

Sounds like for now I should keep the "QF 744" type as "fjpy" but at some point (possibly soon) it will need changing to "jpy". I'm happy to make that change when the consensus is such ... meanwhile if a specific route is shown incorrectly just let me know. i.e. is now the right time to change SYD-NRT (& back) and SIN-FRA (& back) to "jpy" for QF 744. If so, are all SYD-SIN QF 744 services also "jpy" or are some "fjpy"? |

From the missing cabins list:
There's a J cabin on the AMS-LCY BA flights, both for E70 and E90. The KA 773s operate FJY on the HKG-TPE route. Thanks for keeping the tool up to date! ^ |
