New oneworld itinerary validator
I've released a new version of the oneworld itinerary validator, v0.6
Only slight changes.. Added support for calculating old/new QF Status Credit, and BA Tier Credit earning (thanks Mike!). Also now the tool will display a visual map of the segments from gc.kls2.com. Added MAD-SVO flight, but need to regenerate the flight list for other segments. Edited by moderator: slfft.allhyper.com/0.95/award.htm Current version is at http://www.slfft.org/ |

Updated once again.. v0.7
Changed the layout a bit, and added some performance improvements for the validator engine. Also added MAD-BEY :) One new neat feature in the OWE planner.. you can now list all flights > X miles from a city, or all flights in a range of miles. Enter: 1000 in From box, SYD in To: box, will show all flights > 1000 miles to Sydney. Likewise, SYD in From: box and 1000 in To: box will show all flights < 1000 miles from Sydney. (ok, a little odd) You can also see all flights within a range. Enter values in From and/or To box. eg. All flights > 8000 miles From:8000 To:<blank> All flights between From:4800 and To:5200 All flights less than From:blank To: 100 |

My most desired enhancement request:
Right now you can specify airport-airport or airport-country.
I would like to be able to specify airport-continent OR continent-continent OR country-continent For example jfk-1 or 1-2 |
New release
New update.
Some more layout changes. The major change is to the OWE planner.. you can now filter by from/to and gt/lt mileage. It will also filter by continent. Use: ~nam|~sam|~eur|~afr|~asa|~swp in From/To fields to specify North America, South America, etc.. Note you should really specify two continents, or a continent and a country, otherwise the search may take quite awhile (eg. Don't put in ~nam only unless you want to wait!) So now you can show all flights from north america to europe that are > 5000 miles.. GT: 5000 LT: blank From: ~nam To: ~eur I have also updated the valid flight database with the latest oneworld schedules. As always, it will still be a good idea to verify your route with the latest schedules. The tool also makes an attempt to determine the maximum fare class supported on a route (based on aircraft type). So if First/Biz is not available on a route it will be grayed out. |

Topping this because I was playing with the itinerary validator (which is, IMO, a spectacular and useful device) and found a glitch.
In invalidates PER-MEL or v.v when there's a true transcon in Oz (SYD-PER etc.) The prohibited city pairs for >1 transcon are PER-BNE/CNS/SYD, not MEL. A small potato. |

An unwelcome change. :( |
While it's up top, I have found another glitch - there was a change recently that allowed you to travel again domestically via point of origin
eg. MEL-SYD....NA/EU/AS...-PER-MEL-SYD (Change talked about in this thread ) Just put my trip in which is about to be ticketed and got a validation error for going back to HBA: 1: HBA-SYD: 1st of 4 (Southwest Pacific) 2: SYD-HNL: intercontinental 3: HNL-DFW: 1st of 6 (North America) 4: DFW-MIA: 2nd of 6 (North America) 5: MIA-PTY: 3rd of 6 (North America) 6: CUU-DFW: 4th of 6 (North America) 7: DFW-YVR: 5th of 6 (North America) 8: YVR-JFK: 1st of 1 (North America Transcon) *8: YVR-JFK: 6th of 6 (North America) 9: JFK-SNN: intercontinental 10: LGW-DBV: 1st of 4 (Europe) 11: SVO-HEL: 2nd of 4 (Europe) 12: HEL-RHO: 3rd of 4 (Europe) 13: WAW-HEL: 4th of 4 (Europe) 14: HEL-NRT: intercontinental 15: NRT-HKG: 1st of 4 (Asia) 16: HKG-CEB: 2nd of 4 (Asia) 17: CEB-HKG: 3rd of 4 (Asia) 18: HKG-SYD: intercontinental 19: SYD-HBA: 2nd of 4 (Southwest Pacific) Rule violated!!!! [HBA-MEL] Max 1 segment(s): Travel via original point of origin not permitted |
Wonderfully helpful, hauteboy. Many thanks for all your hard work.
One tiny thing: using a Mac and Safari, Apple's browser bundled with OSX, it's not possibe to choose any tier point calculator other than Qantas, e.g. clicking on the BA radio button results in BOTH the Qantas and BA buttons being chosen simultaneously (something which should be impossible) and QF tier pts still being shown. Otherwise it works perfectly. |

Why isn't AY87/87 route HEL-CAN-HEL possible for xONE? "Error!!! No oneworld service exists HEL - CAN"?

This thread should be used for discussions about the OWE validator. It more accurately reflects the provenance of the tool and the thread subject is more meaningful. This post is linked to from the 0.95007 & later versions of the tool for easy reference.
If you have feedback for this tool, e.g. something it isn't doing right etc., please post it into this thread. By all means reference another thread from this one; note that this thread is the only one I regularly check so comments elsewhere are likely to be missed by me. The most current version of MileageMonkey can be found here. For information on what has happened to this tool between previous posts in this thread and now, please refer to this thread. |
Thanks. This utility is great ^
I've been checking the miles required for BA oneworld awards and noticed that sometimes the miles required for business class are shown as 2x economy and for first class 3x economy e.g. GRU-SFO-EDI Econ 90, Biz 180, First 270 Whereas on other routes business class is shown as 3x economy and first class 4x economy e.g. GRU-NYC-EDI Econ 60, Biz 180, First 240 Is this correct or is there a glitch in the utility? I've tried searching (britishairways.com, Google and FlyerTalk) for the rules on mileage required for businees / first class cabins on BA oneworld awards but without success. |

BA oneworld awards are for flights on * Two or more oneworld™ partner airlines, not including BA or * Three or more oneworld™ partner airlines, if the itinerary includes BA The information on the BA website https://www.britishairways.com/trave...g/public/en_gb only specifies the miles needed for the economy cabin on these awards, not business and first class. I don't know if it's safe to assume that the miles required are the same as for BA only / one partner awards i.e. 2x for business and 3x for first class. |

Ah, sorry. I misunderstood your question. Your answer should be towards the bottom of this post from the ultimate BA guide, a sticky on the BA forum.
The answer from that post is As with all awards, if you want to travel in business class, you need to multiply the miles you need by 2x, and if you want to travel in first, by 3x. |

The answer from that post is so the 3x for business class and 4x for first class shown in MileageMonkey is presumably incorrect. |

Seems so; it was only affecting sectors 4001-9000 miles, as all the others had the correct multiples. There is a 25000-35000 entry in the ba.com page which wasn't in the MM table, so I've added that too (140/280/420 '000 miles for Y/J/F). 0.95008 is uploaded now.

Beta 0.95009 is available
Version 1.1 of JPH's tool has been located :)
Version 0.95009 is a substantial change from 0.95008, incorporating (hopefully) all of the enhancements and corrections added to the 0.9500x releases, plus the additional enhancements which were added into 1.1 (such as the "List Countries" button, old QF program being stripped out, LA added, plus some fixes). To be clear, 0.95009 is a superset of both 0.95008 and 1.1. If you wish to try 0.95009 (and I'd encourage everyone to do so), you'll need to follow the link from the earlier post in this thread to the "Older and beta versions", and then select "Latest beta version". After a little while, I'll move it from beta and replace the 0.95008 version. Please give feedback in this thread, e.g. any issues encountered etc. |

: LHR-VIE: intercontinental : VIE-HEL: intercontinental The author previously fixed this but I guess the current version in use is based on a 'pre-fix' version. |

Thanks SLF ^. Some of BA's caribbean flights aren't listed. LGW-TAB/SXM/GCM etc.

So, LGW-TAB is restored; LHR-GCM is OK, but AFAICT BA don't fly LON-SXM? |
Sorry I got the saints mixed up, I meant UVF (St Lucia) not SXM (St Maarten).

Thanks for the great tool. Is there any way to specify surface segments?
|
yes, as in "-HNL-LAX,SFO-DFW-" for a LAX-SFO "Surface Segment"
|
Forgive my ignorance but unfortunately my level of IT literacy drops off the scale where the likes of programming are concerned.
How difficult, or more to the point how much work would it be to build in an additional configurator - For the Global Explorer product? I'm not sure how many people would be keen to have such a feature added, or whether the time it would take to design/implement it would be worthwhile - but was just a thought? |

Also, are seasonal routes supposed to be included in this tool? |

If you're reporting a problem with the OWE validator, then I'd appreciate a link using the "Link to this itinerary" feature, as it provides a fast, accurate method of reproducing the problem. This feature can also be used when you would like others to comment on a proposed itinerary.

Beta 0.95011: +RJ, +MA, +JL, -EI
A new version is available in the beta area, which incorporates the routes of the new OW partners RJ, MA & JL and has also had the EI services removed. Please try this out and report any comments back here. I've also added another feature on an experimental basis.

Thanks for updating it so quickly ^ ^ Have put a few dummy itineraries into it and no problems as of yet. |
Can you please add AEP to IGR. That would be great.

A request: for any future route additions, if known please can you advise which cabins are available; e.g. fjy, fy, jy, y etc. |
The F indicator is a great idea, so many thanks for implementing it. :-: A number of routes seem to have incorrect data. Routes that have F but are not showing right now:
NRT to SIN, SFO, FRA, CDG, GRU. HKG to SYD, MEL, JNB (depending on how you want to treat seasonal flights) LHR to CAI, TLV, EWR(?), PHL, MCT, GCM,. Those are the ones that stood out to me, but I'm sure I've missed a few. The next request is to have an option for the OWE planner only to show flights with F. :) |
?Small glitch. I'm doing a xONE4 and part of it is DFW-SNA-ORD. These are 1205 & 1726 miles respectively according to Great Circle Mapper, but come up on the mileage monkey as 715 & 124 miles respectively. Am I doing something wrong or is there a glitch.
Great tool though! Thanks for all the work. |
