LHR-DXB-BKK-HKG-NRT-HKG-PER-SYD-LAX-LIM-EZE-CCS-SCL-GIG-NYC-SFO-MIA-BGI-MIA-MEX-LHR

Myself, any comments regarding it are welcome, my first, so might have missed something.

Did i miss a huge MR flight anywhere?

*&#$ just realized i've been playing around so much with the tools, i forgot i was only supposed to do a LONE4 and have instead been doing a LONE5 !!!!

Didn't know this thread existed. Thanks for bumping.

Here is my recently ticketed AONE4.

CAI-LHR, LHR-LAX-AUS, DFW-ORD-SFO, SFO-JFK, LGA-DFW-YVR, YVR-HKG-NRT, NRT-HKG-DEL, DEL-HKG-ADL, ADL-DRW-PER, PER-MEL, MEL-HKG-LHR, LHR-CAI

Purpose? Partly visiting new places and partly milage run (but that is pretty obvious, why else would anyone do DFW-ORD-SFO or ADL-DRW-PER?)

Trip split into 4 chunks. Starting April 06. Stopping off in LHR for a couple of weeks before starting in earnest. All North America to YVR in one week (mid April). The remainder to LHR 2 weeks in Sept/Oct and final LHR-CAI to be decided (perhaps adding on another DONE or AONE for 07.

Not a legal routing (2 transcons in NA in NYC-SFO-MIA), also LIM-EZE-CCS is really LIM-SCL-EZE-SCL-CCS and a single flight number comes and goes as LAN changes the schedule so you can only book it in months with an R (or whatever criteria LAN is using these days). I'd change it to LHR-DXB-LHR-BKK-HKG-NRT-PER-SYD-LAX-EZE-CCS-SCL-GIG-JFK-DFW-SFO-MIA-BGI-MIA-MEX-LHR to maximize mileage and I'd consider dropping CCS unless you really want to go into a potential war zone.

Uh, your trip suggestion didn't validate very well, maybe it's error in the validator, can't do LHR from DXB since it's my departure point, and there is no direct service from LAX to EZE (I see there is in the Oneworld Itenary tool, says 2 stops but same flight number which would mean it would only become 1 segment right?)

And regarding CCS yes i know, but not sure i can stay away from oh the so beutiful women..

Want to visit Mexico City so it's not for mileage.
And haven't selected which program yet (Travel between europe and asia mostly, so asiamiles is an option, but no status which is kinda to bad)

Not clear what program mocean is trying to accumulate miles in. If it's AA, then on a LONEx, the trick of routing MIA-MEX-LHR so as to be able to accumulate AA miles on the transatlantic flight on BA is not a good one, since the MEX-LHR flight on BA in L only earns 0.25 base miles per flown mile. Just flying MIA-LHR on AA would be more lucrative.

If the program is not AA, then the MIA-MEX-LHR trip is unnecessary if the point is to earn miles on the transatlantic flight. Of course, if the point is to go to MEX rather than to maximize mileage earning, then go right ahead. Or if this is actually an A/DONEx being credited to AA, then it's also a good thing to do.

I'm commencing a DONE4 this month. As a rough outline I am doing it in 5 'trip's with positioning segments. I live in MEL.

The oneWORLD validator shows this trip as 64,175 miles.
With status and and cabin bonus' it will earn me about 124,374 miles.
I will go from oneWORLD Sapphire to oneWORLD Emerald with the MEL-PER sector.
My 'year' ends on 31st October.
It will also earn 2360 Qantas Frequent Flyer status credits with 560 in my current "year" and 1800 in my next.
I will attain "Lifetime Silver" with this trip (Yay! )

Pos 1: MEL-SYD-SIN-CMB: Pick up Tickets.

Trip 1: [ASIA] CMB-xHKG-xNRT,NRT-xHKG-xAKL-xMEL (Oct '05, CX to AKL then QF to MEL)

Trip 2: [SWP#1] MEL-PER (Oct '05, QF)

Pos 2a: PER-MEL (Oct '05)
Pos 2b: MEL-PER (Dec '05)

Trip 3: [SWP#2] PER-CNS*,CNS-MEL (Dec'05, QF)

Trip 4: [EUR] MEL-xLHR-DXB,DXB-xLHR-LAX (Mar '06, QF to LHR then BA)

Pos 3a: LAX-MEL (Mar '06)
Pos 3b: MEL-LAX (Jun '06)

Trip 5: [N/A] LAX-DFW,DFW-SEA,SEA-xDFW-ANC,ANC-xDFW-xJFK-HKG (Jun '06 AA to JFK then CX)

Pos 4a: HKG-MEL (Jun '06)
Pos 4b: MEL-HKG (Oct '06)

Trip 5: HKG-CMB-<new xONEx> (Oct '06 CX. Pick up tickets for new trip, with first part ending back in MEL)

(* This was booked before recent changes to the xONEx rules; you can no longer do more than one PER-BNE/CNS/MEL/SYD sector but you could substitute DRW for CNS with this itinery. This would be 64,200 miles and 2340 SC's)

No can do, mocean. Can't both go to Cuba and have an AA flight on your ticket.

You also have a problem with your N/A stops.

Surprised the validator didn't pick up on these.

So how does one do Cuba, is it possible on ONE? or do i have to buy seperate ticket? (Oneworld itenary says there is flights from HAV direct to MIA)

Also your trip is 6000 miles shorter than mine (Not really a MR, but have time so why not get points and if i go with BA that's a 840 tier points compared to a 660 in your suggestion (Even though i have 1 segment left \)

Sure. You just can't fly AA.

I don't know where you're getting the MIA-HAV flight so it's hard to tell why it's there. LA used to run something like SCL-HAV-MIA-CUN-HAV-SCL or something equally as odd but I think they don't anymore. Regardless, you can't just book the HAV-MIA sector. AA has some charter flights but they aren't available to anyone but a very select group. They might be showing up because they have AA flight numbers but they are not bookable under any circumstances.

You can get a ticket from Cancun to Havana for about $200.

Nope, try again. You need to do all your North America trips at one time. See how you're doing some before you go to South America and some after? You need to choose to do them all before or all after. Look at the example I gave. All were after.

Wouldn't be too surprised if taxes were $400-$500 with all the silly surcharges.

Valid? Having the first NYC as a transit only.

from FAQ " (c) a transit without stopover in North America on a flight between South America"

Also any recommendation on FF (Only need small tip, travel asia, europe) Can i credit Tier Points to BA and add the miles to other FF? (Like with SQ)

Try US$800-1000; my recently booked DONE4 was ticketed before the most recent surcharge/levy/tax increases and they added AU$1200 to the base fare.
