I have business there... If you don't want BOM, substitute Karachi for one or both! It will give you even more miles.

South America routing

Quick question on maximizing XONE3 invloving South America:
- Can I fly SA-Europe or SA-ASIA (or vice versa) with transit in US?
If so, does NA is one of the required continents?

You do know that JFK-HEL is two class so you will be in business, right? Edited to add that HKG-PER is also two class business (and I have heard not all that nice). Sao Paulo to Dallas is in business class as well. Wow.

Edited...again...to add that you have a few problems on this routing. First, half of it's in Business. Save your money and just pay for business if that's the case. Second, no oneworld carrier that you can ticket on flies from Sao Paulo to Rio. Lan Chile flies the route but doesn't have flight rights to pick up pax in GRU. Third, you have five sectors in SWP so you will have to pay an additional segment charge.

ELO, I know you have been planning this for a while by your posts on other threads. Maybe just tell the group where you want to go and where you want to stop and then I am sure they/I can help you figure out an appropriate routing.

Well you are at 21 segments for one.. so it's not valid routing.

If you only have 4 North America segments, about the best you could do would be:
GRU-DFW-ANC-DFW-YVR-JFK-HEL, which would earn ~4k more miles, and get your transcon on CX

Here. See if this helps a little.

CAI-LHR-SYD-CNS-DRW-PER-MEL-CHC//AKL-SCL-RIO//GRU-EZE
-LIM-SCL-JFK-SJU-MIA-LAX-LHR-HEL-LHR-DXB

You have one extra segment that you will have to purchase plus the CHC-AKL open jaw and the RIO-SAO open jaw.

Just edited to add that if you take out the Helsinki trip, you can go via Hong Kong on Cathay and via north america on Qantas and Lan Chile. Would look like this. Personally, I would take a stop in Hong Kong over one in Helsinki any day of the week. Helsinki is nice but it's not Hong Kong.

CAI-LHR-HKG-SYD-CNS-DRW-PER-MEL-CHC//AKL-LAX-SCL-
RIO//GRU-EZE-LIM-SCL-JFK-SJU-MIA-LAX-LHR-DXB
