That's exactly what I wanted to book originally, and for exactly those reasons (I'd read enough on here to be wary of longhaul QF fees). Unfortunately, there was zero JL availability on HND-JFK around any of the dates I wanted, and the first agent struggled to find AA availability on that route as well.

I rationalize paying the extra $1000 with my current booking that includes PHL-EYW-PHL because I'd be buying it regardless, and it's a surprisingly expensive route for the dates I need.

The QF longhaul leg from Oz to the US. Switch that to the AA flight from SYD-LAX-JFK and you'll save money (although I suspect run out of room for your EYW side trip)

Noticed competitve exCPT DONEx fares (a bit cheaper in USD then exOSL), but only on QR/BA - AA much higher. Not sure what the reason for discrepancy is, but would AA RTW price my itinerary using AA fares or the lower QR/BA fares?

What about HND-DFW on JL? Seems to generally have better availability than HND-JFK.

What numbers are you seeing because I'm still seeing OSL as cheaper across the board

Plus, ex-South Africa adds a continent for many/most of us, so for me that changes it from a DONE3 to a DONE4. Years ago, ex-South Africa and ex-Mauritius were cheaper, even considering that it became a four continent itinerary, but no longer.

I had considered that option, however, it substantially reduces LP earnings on AA, and yes, the added segment would have collapsed the rest of the trip structure.

Thanks. I'll toss that one into the mix next time. I did check ORD and BOS on JL, and also considered using NRT originating flights. They showed even worse availability than JFK on my dates.

If you're stuck with the QF coded segment because of LP's (I am in the same boat sometimes) then you'll want to change your ticketing carrier. This means going through a travel agent. Most likely if you ticket with QR or JL you won't have much in YQ/YR on that segment, also JL coded segments (if this applies to you) have very minimal YQ/YR when on QR or JL stock.

Okay, I managed to get your numbers to show up by explicitly searching for QR fares. Cabin is listed as "C" instead of "B". I'm tempted to say this is an ExpertFlyer glitch. (Caching?)

date change prior to first departure

I've booked a DONE6 starting from OSL in March which includes:

JFK-GRU (AA)
stopover
GRU-MIA-PHL (AA)

With all three legs in mid September.

I need to change the dates of those flights and stopover to early September. The routings wouldn't change at all. If I make the date change now (before the first flight of the booking in March) will it cause the entire trip to be repriced?

I also noticed that the JFK-GRU leg is sold as a JL codeshare on AA metal. Would changing to the JL codeshare cause a reprice of the whole trip?

Some disagree with me but my view is the rules are silent on whether a reprice results in your situation. In reality I think you'll be fine without a reprice, particularly if ticketed with AA.
