Probably belong to another thread. I recently made similar post there.

If you goal is oneworld status and miles, you can try to credit to AY. AA BA IB 250%, AS 200% distance based. JL and CX leg is 125% only, so depends on which segment you took , probably JL(Asia to US) and CX (EU to Asia).

You will get OWE for sure, and probably at least 120,000 avois. If you credit to AA, no more than 70,000.

For AS, probably 80,000 miles and around 50000-60000 EQM and sapphire status.

You can use wheretocredit.com and compare all miles you can earn.

thanks, I did a bit of calculation based on the flights and it seems like AS gives the most miles because it has 225% for most flights I have. I might reach OWS with AS because all flights are in 2024 and I think for the next year, I don't have to fly AS to get the status, so I will not have a status this year I am based in Europe so I am not sure if AS status is helpful but most OW status is not very useful except the lounge and bag benefits so it seems all airlines provide more or less the same benefit for my need. I have a lot of avios but couldn't utilize them very much so I am not sure AY miles would be useful in the end. For me, AA miles have been very useful but with the changes this year, I think my flights on IB, BA, AA will earn based on the ticket price, so I won't earn much with AA even with their elite bonus

Yeah, the problem with crediting to AA on these tickets, is that you have to very carefully plan to credit to AA and avoid AA, IB, and BA codes as much as possible. You never know with AAdvantage, they might end up crediting as distance, but I'd never rely on it anymore. If using the OW tool, then it almost definitely means a re-ticket and likely a $125 fee to get the codes changed over to JL, QR, AY, etc. to make them more palatable.

AS is a fine program, but is now distance based. It is nice in some spots, and not so nice in others. I'm pretty sure though it 's the entire journey vs. the Avios programs that will still charge you segment by segment. I'd say ideally if you're not going for AA, then I'd prefer status on a OW airline that gets free MCE on AA but also gets domestic lounge access. I personally don't fly a ton of US domestic that isn't part of an international ticket but it could be useful occasionally. But beggars can't always be choosers, and OWS / OWE with any airline is much better than OWR with AA.

Just checked the AS website, and I see that it has removed the requirement to fly segments on AS metal to earn status. I'm going to reevaluate for the DONE3 I started yesterday. Currently crediting to QR, which is also the carrier on which I do most of my flying. I'll look at mileage accumulation, earn/burn ratio and redemption availability. Maybe change to AS for the rest of my itin, so far I have only flown NRT-BOS on JL metal with AA flight number.

If you have a lot of QR segments then QRs status bonus is decent too.

With AS make sure you're looking the award chart and figure out how that plays into your travels since it's now also distance based .It's pretty generous on under 1500 mile segments in my opinion but gets less so on longer flights. I would expect fees to be lower than redeeming Avios with QR (or BA) but haven't tested that very much yet. There are still some quirks in AS's redemption, as I understand you still can't combine partners on awards, but if that's not a necessity then certainly their OWE status is pretty easy to reach.

I almost never redeem miles for shorter flights, they're nearly all long hauls. If I stay with QRPC, then OWE is less valuable to me, because I'll get Al Safwa access since I fly international J and will be QR PLT. At that point, really all that it will be good for is earnings multiplier. Not flying again for a month, so plenty of time to figure it out.

Change of first flight coupon

Hi there,
It is unfortunate that I have to change the departure date of my first flight coupon, part of my ex-CAI rtw ticket. To my understanding, I have to pay the difference of the fare, caused by the correction/update of the ex-CAI Done4 fare, but I am not sure what the fare level refers to in the ToC.
Prior to departure:

a. Changes are permitted provided ticketed points remain the same. If the first flight coupon
is being changed, and the fare level has increased since ticket issuance, the difference
between the old and new fare will be charged. If the fare level has decreased since ticket
issuance, no refund will apply.
It looks like I can get rid of 125 USD change fee, but not the huge fare change, am I right?

correct - change the first coupon pay the current fare.

small reminder to all: the $3k+ tickets were 25% the price of North America so even the new fare is a very good deal

What is the price of ex-CAI fare like nowadays?

And It looks like ex-Japan fare is also good from some post I read. Is that as good as CAI? (Just daydreaming)

Not to mention those are base fares only any ex-CAI attractes huge YQ charges. (So does ex-OSL).

At the moment ex-OSL, ex-Japan, and to a much lesser extent ex-South Africa are the key departure points. ex-South Africa isn't cheap per se but should allow 4 stopovers in each of the primary continents, so could still b e attractive.
