From this forum, it seems like MH passed the Go/No Go OW assessment and they are expected to become a full member December 2012.

But if MH has become a member of Oneworld by the time you fly, then the answer should be yes.
However, be aware that the ability to accrue, and the rate you get, might depend on the booking class of your ticket. Look for example at the Cathay Pacific link on the above web page - woeful earning to QF from flying CX in lower booking classes, We will all have to wait to see what the earning rate will be with MH

Malaysia Airlines will become a full member of oneworld with effect from Friday 1 February 2013, adding one of commercial aviation's most frequent award winners to the world's leading quality airline alliance.

Also confirmed here : http://www.ausbt.com.au/malaysia-air...ebruary-1-2013
...MAS previousy expected to become a full operational member of oneworld in December, but a statement issued by oneworld says "while its alliance implementation programme is on track for completion in the coming weeks, its addition to oneworld is being held until the beginning of 2013 to avoid the end-of-year holiday season and for other administrative reasons."...

I know little about airline ticketing as will become obvious from this question

MH obviously don't use Amadeus, will they after 1st Feb? If not will their 5 figure
Booking ref. work in other Oneworld airlines systems or will another ref. number be required?
