No date yet. If everything goes well then you should expect a date on Q3 news letter. Possible in october we should know the indefinite date. Again ideally i think they would push for 1st October as current Malaysia Airlines was officially become today's form on 1st October 1972...It seems 1st october 2012 would be the ideal date to announce fully integrate of oneworld alliance. But i think there might be too many things to be established before the final join date to be confirmed.

Agree that October would be a nice date, coinciding with the 40th anniversary. However, in one of the speeches given during the AB ceremony, December 2012 was mentioned.
The biggest challenge when joining an alliance is usually IT ... which is not the strongest part of MH, I'm afraid. So I guess December is more realistic.

Enrich to BMI to Avios
Taking of on MH004 this morning from KUL - The Captain welcomed us on a BMI code share - I was wondering if it was worth considering to see if we can claim BMI points to end up with lots of Avios - Any words of advise gratefully received.

I am pretty sure that for BMI, you do not earn miles on codeshares, unless the operating carrier is a partner (such as *A or Virgin, Qatar, Transvia, etc). MH is unfortunetly not a BMI partner.

You won't get points even if you had bought your ticket under the BD flight number operated by any non-*A airline. So honestly I don't know what all this 'code-sharing' stuff is all about !

Malaysia Arlines is so slow in joining OW process!
All Malaysia Airlines's airline partners are still those SkyTeam partners in which MH intended to join. Current the partners include:
Air France
KLM
Alitalia
Delta
Virgin Atlantic
Etihad
Jetairways
and oneworld member elect Sri Lankan...
I wonder when the first miles earning and redemption agreement would be signed...But for an airline to join oneworld in near future, the pace is so slowwwwwww. You would imagine that some sort of FFP agreement would be signed by now.

It's not just FFP agreement... a relative of mine works in MH and says there are the inter-lining economics to work out, systems harmonization, upgrading of aircraft, etc.
And yes the process has been delayed much to passengers' chagrin...

It is normal for the joining process to be about 12-18 months. Since MH previously does not have many bilateral relationships with OW members, the joining process should err on the long side. Since MH only announced to join in June, 2011, it is normal for the process not to complete until the end of this year, which is what is indicated on OW's website (http://www.oneworld.com/member-airlines/members-elect/)

Sure we know that. That is why I am asking now as it is 14 months since anouncement but no one from oneworld alliance member airlines could earn or redeem any miles on Malaysia yet. Frustration. Normally you would expect at least one airline among the alliance would have the FFP agreement with member elect already after one year of announcement. For example, Kingfisher had agreement with BA, CX, AA etc after announcement. JAL signed up with CX during joining process.
