The code-share between CX and MH is not new and has been there for a long time.

Remember that OneWorld is a marketing alliance, not an operational one. OneWorld has no unified baggage policies, and it's therefore extremely unlikely that a in-town terminal check-in desk would be able to manage the huge diversities of individual airline policies.

is it still possible to earn Delta miles on Malaysia Airlines?
Malaysia Air's site shows you can still earn Malaysia Air miles on Delta. Can you still also earn Delta miles on Malaysia Air? There's no mention of it on Delta's web site

Sure we know that. That is why I am asking now as it is 14 months since anouncement but no one from oneworld alliance member airlines could earn or redeem any miles on Malaysia yet. Frustration. Normally you would expect at least one airline among the alliance would have the FFP agreement with member elect already after one year of announcement. For example, Kingfisher had agreement with BA, CX, AA etc after announcement. JAL signed up with CX during joining process.

Thought I would share this response from Malaysia Airlines:
Dear TMT,
Thank you for your email which we received on the 26th of July 2012. Please accept our humble apologies for this delayed response and thank you for your patience. Thank you for expressing interest in our integration with the oneworld alliance. Please allow us to explain that while we hope to officially be part of oneworld in December 2012, there is much work to be done. The preparation for our integration with oneworld began in August 2011 and had involved every division in Malaysia Airlines with approximately 100 over staff across the organization. There are 11 members at the moment in oneworld and with us it will become 12. The opportunity to join this alliance is a huge honour for Malaysia Airlines and we are proud and excited about our integration into this alliance.
We are truly sorry and understand your unhappiness over the time it is taken for the integration to be complete. While we would most certainly like to speed things up, we must explain that to be a part of oneworld, we need to fulfill the prerequisites and requirements of the alliance Delivery Requirement Document. This in turn means that there are a lot of things that need changes, adjustments, re-alignments and consolidations of policies. We can assure you that we are indeed steadily progressing towards the finalization of our integration and hope that you will continue supporting us through this period.
Thank you once again and we look forward to welcoming onboard Malaysia Airlines very soon.
Kind Regards,

Finally MH revealed on 7 December 2011 to going oneworld.. see here http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/my/e...spitality.html

From the page you linked
Malaysia Airlines formal alliance membership of oneworld will be completed soon and the national carrier will start flying as part of the alliance by the turn of the year
The membership will be among the significant catalysts that will complement the airlines efforts to win back customers and become a profitable preferred premium carrier as outlined in its Business Plan revealed on 7 December 2011
