Now this is really exciting. I ended up gettin folks over in the AS forum all riled up those supposed comments about AS. <sigh> So do we still think its even KIX?

I'm gonna hold out for HKG. ;-)

KIX would be so LAME. Amusing press release prank, though. And love the secrecy -- maybe they are taking cues from Steve Jobs.

Way to go Lesquin Airport!

Hope it's not a CRJ Seattle-Winnepeg-Goose Bay-Shannon-Lille Lesquin with an extra stop in Keflavik on the return!

SEA-VVO... that should make a lot of headlines and raised eyebrows.

Good call, from what I hear it will be on a DC-9-30 with 3 technical stops.

Oh yes, I don't think NW can do that for flying more than 3 stopover during transpacific flights.

SEA-HRE to take advantage of the very high exchange rate.

and I just caught up with Neal two hours ago at a party in Minneapolis - but didn't ask about the new flight - sorry! He's lost weight and appears in good health and spirits given all that's going on!!

my guesses:

SEA-NRT-BLR
SEA-NRT-HYD
or even SEA-NRT-BOM (rtw)

as extensions of the 2nd NRT flight.

Is there much biz traffic SEA-HKG? I didn't think so. As others have pointed out, SEA-ICN and SEA-TPE which are the big routes out there are already well served.

SEA-PEK (instead of NRT-PEK) to begin after the Olympics is more of a possibility since PEK is starting to get n/s service to many US cities already which means that the NRT stopover will get less appealing over time.

I feel like I'm the only SEA-based FT'er that hasn't opined on this topic yet

I think it's either
SEA-SYD
SEA-HKG
SEA-MNL

I don't think you'd get the Governor out for a SEA-NRT-xxx flight so I'm going with a destination that's not currently served out of SEA. The only problem with SYD is that HA introduced one-stop service to SYD (HA23 SEA-HNL-SYD) so it's not technically a "new" route unless NW does it non-stop.
