Daily Service Seattle to Beijing

Destination: Departs: Arrives:
Beijing 4:55 p.m. 8:35 p.m. +1

Destination: Departs: Arrives:
Seattle 10:55 p.m. 6:35 p.m.

The arrival times are similar to the current arrival times out of NRT. Basically few if any onward connections are possible out of Beijing, so one has to overnight. UA flights arrive in the afternoon, so on-ward connections are possible. Also, coming back it's the same problem, one has another overnight red-eye to anyplace other than the west coast. Add to that, no showers in the SEA WC...

Total time from PEK to east-coast is the same for the PEK-NRT-MSP/DTW-east coast connection and the PEK-SEA-(red eye)-MSP/DTW-east coast connection.

This east-west utilization of aircraft is far more efficient than having the plane sit overnight for the traditional daytime departure across the Pacific, for example.
Very creative ^!

Now the pacific flights all sit at the final destinations for overnight, what a waste !

Well, the planes arrive pretty late at night, ranging from PVG at 9:05 pm to SIN at 1:45 am! Where can they go this late? Macao for the casinos?

NRT-CAN has been suspended service

Hi all,

I have been heard from NW about specific routes from NRT-CAN has been suspended due to new service for SEA-PEK. It will be operated for A332 from SEA-PEK instead of NRT-CAN. You didn't eventually know that from NW has been change due to new routes. Obviously, NW will continuation where A330 came from AMS, LHR, NRT. Thank you for your understanding from NW.

Regards

So, are you speaking officially on behalf of NW ? Hopefully not, since your grammar is, frankly, pretty awful . But thank for the confirmation! ^^^.

An Apology to N830MH

I want to publicly apologize to N830MH for criticizing his grammar. - I did not know he was using American Sign Language.

Thanks, James318 and theZipper, for the heads-up.

The SEA-AMS A332 used to continue eastbound to BOM. Is that no more?

This is a good move by NW. They are fully leveraging their 332 base in Seattle while adding a coveted flight from the US to China -- exactly the sort of creative use of existing assets that is needed for the company to prosper long term.

I just hope this isn't the last hurrah for the red tail, and DL doesn't screw up the solid SEA mini-hub.

As I've said, NW is very forward thinking... they don't need DL.... DL needs NW and ALL its assets!

Hopefully not. We all saw what AA did to Reno Air.

Oops...I didn't mean I am "for" AA buying AS. In fact I would like NW buying AS...Oh well, that is not going to happen now.

I just hope we still get frequent 332 subs on the SEA-MSP-SEA route as these birds are rotated around. I love it when that happens. Last summer was pretty fantastic when they were on the schedule for a whole month and half. But when the A330 shows up randomly on the SEA-MSP flights it makes so many who are used to the 752/753 so happy.
