Did anybody get more than 1 bonus per type of account this year?

I opened a personal and business acccounts in Dec 09, but only received the bonus miles from Jan 2010 to April 2010.

The language in the offer says that we can only get 1 bonus per year, so I am wondering if I have to wait until 2011 to apply again.

Thanks

I am running up against the same thing. Opened account in Dec 09, miles posted in Jan 10. Opened a new account in Feb/March 10, bankers expected it to go through but online customer service refused. Any advise how to get past this?

Thanks!

What qualifies as a direct deposit?

I opened a Chase checking account, the banker told me a "ACH" would not count as a direct deposit, I asked him to show me in writing, he said "I am trying to you help you, why are you making things difficult" I just want to something in writing than taking your word for it.

What is a direct deposit, I searched this thread already and found the fat wallet list of what does and does not count as a direct deposit. However(comma) that is thread on FW is a little old an don't trust it.

any help would be much appreciated.

I just don't understand it... We normally want it in writing for something that WORKS, not something that does NOT work, or no?

Anyway, I have read both success and failure (= no bonus miles) stories on this. So I am doing it conservatively with 5 debit card transactions monthly. This is reported with a 100% success rate.

Just an opinion, with the merger, this could be the last of the long string of renewed checking account offer expiring June 30. We can just hope that United offers such a deal, but actually, I open my first Chase account with United 15,000 mileage plus bonus checking account, so lets hope United continues this tradition.

some questions about chase checking

Are your required to do 5 uses*credits to purchase stuff* of the card a month to avoid monthly fee?
Can I use a amex card to place money in checking without having going as cash advance?
So after you make 5 transactions 25,000 miles should be posted?

How can I get a business account if I don't have a business?

Thank you guys for all the help.... would like to go to chase this week

Just to keep this thread in the negative, I can confirm that direct transfers from ING post as ACH deposits and I did not get my miles this year because of this. I'd done the same thing in 2009 and it worked OK then.

OK, so my wife opened up an account online yesterday but unfortunately the credit card deposit of $100 didn't go through. She is calling back today to do this. Does anyone think this will be a problem with regards to getting the miles?

It took me about 5 days for my credit card deposit to post.

As for the question whether an ACH transfer from another account is "direct deposit," there are two questions, right? First is, what do you need to do to get the bonus and second is what do you need to do to avoid the monthly fee?

I think the safest thing to do is find a way to make 5 debit transactions as soon as you get the card to ensure your mileage. I wouldn't rely on direct deposit. Losing $6 because you don't do the right thing to get the fee waived is ultimately not a very big deal -- missing the 15,000 or 25,000 miles would be a bigger problem.

The only thing that caused concern for me is that when we log into the account it says...

Unable to Complete Transaction
We were unable to process your request. No transactions were found for this account.

Maybe i should call the credit card...

(Edit: And I did pending $100 charge that should go through tonight)

I get this too. I think what this is is you're going to the page that essentially is asking to see statements and you don't have any statements yet, and that's why it's telling you it's unable to process the transaction.

Agreed, you will continue to see this until a charge/deposit fully posts.

Check with your payroll dept at work. My company allows us to split our paychecks into up to 3 different accounts for direct deposit (I just send $10/check so I can meet requirements.

Verizon lets me pay my phone billl any time with any amount. I make five seperate purchases of $1-2 each. I use roboform , so whole thing takes 5 minutes.

When does the business checking offer expire? I'll be in Orlando, FL in early July and I believe there's a Chase branch there. None in my home state of NC.
