Thanks for the update, I double checked on this last night and nothing had changed, but I guess they need our $25 fees like we need their 25,000 miles today.

I had a problem with multiple transactions at the subway machine in the Boston area. First I made a $3 transaction at a coffee shop, then tried to re-fill my subway pass five times with small amounts. After the first three, the subway will no longer accept the card. I then successfully used the card at the drugstore. Tried again at the subway (different station), but it still wouldn't work. My husband's card does work at the subway, however, I only used it twice in a row so that he doesn't get cut off like I did.:(

I had this with area gas stations.
2 work, 3 fail. It says have cashier reset pump.

I guess to 'reset the pump' at the MBTA would mean to probably wait a day.

I hope it works for you!

try self serve food scanner at Stop & Shop and do one piece of fruit at a time.

I've heard it's a fraud protection measure to not allow this sort of thing.

For anyone hesitant to open a Chase business checking account in California don’t worry, just do it as a sole proprietor. Just in case I brought a business license I have for a rental property but the bank manager said he did not need any documentation. I was in the bank maybe 20 minutes, 10 waiting and 10 opening the account. Best if you know the ropes to help guide the banker with his job, bring your one pass number etc. and be sure to get the 2 printouts with the tracking numbers. Easy miles! Thanks FT

limit one bonus per calendar year

The terms include the one bonus limit per calendar year. How exactly do they calculate the calendar year...the year opened or the year bonus was received...
I opened an account Nov2009, received points Feb2010, closed account Jun2010. I would just wait until Jan2011 and open another account and expect to get the miles, but the current link expires Dec31,2010.

Has anyone had success opening another account in the same year bonus points were received?

Biz account terms seem to indicate you can close the account in 90 days without penalty. But I heard that you need to keep the account for 180 days so your miles are "safe". Did anyone close the biz account only after 90 days? Any bad consequence?

It should be based on the year your account is opened. There are reports upthread about people opening their accounts in both Dec 2009 and Feb 2010 and received the full bonus twice.

Well, I opened my account in Dec 2009 on the same day as my sister. Her account was closed in May 2010 and she opened a new one in Sept 2010 and she got her miles. I closed my first one in Sept 2010. I tried to open a new one in Oct 2010 and the woman told me that the computer said that the coupon code had been used previously. I didn't quite understand that one. Long story short, the system wouldn't let me open the account.

I'll try again this weekend. But to answer your question, yes you should be able to open a new one this year.

Up thread someone pointed out that you need to use a coupon with different serial number in the first 7 digits from your last coupon. Links were provided several pages back.

Biz Account

Has anyone tried opening two business accounts in one year? I opened one as a sole prop using my SSN, but I also have a legitimate business with an EIN. Can I get two bonuses using the two different tax ids?

Not sure, but when I inquired w/ a banker about this earlier in the year, he indicated that I could get multiple bonuses if opening up for "different" businesses. Interested if anyone has actually had success in doing this.
