I signed up for myself and my wife. When i signed up there was a place to enter my continental info. But when i did it for my wife, I didnt get the option or didnt see it if i did. How do I enter her CO FF number now? Also how do you get a chat with chase? i can't find the option anywhere?

I have been watching this thread for a while and am considering opening an account. What has held me up was the monthly requirement for either a direct deposit or debit card swipes to avoid the monthly fees. I don't want to move my base checking account to Chase, so I have little interest in the direct deposit of my paycheck. And the debit card purchases would be a bit of a nuisance every month. I did see that some people inferred that a monthly transfer from their ING account would suffice as a direct deposit. Has anyone confirmed that or found a better way to avoid the monthly fees?

If you read the thread there are some reports both ways. Try it if you want. I figured that making 5 small purchases a month was better than the risk of not meeting the requirements of the offer and losing all the miles. Maybe you feel luckier.

I find making a few debit card purchases each month is not so bad in life. You can even do some online. For example, I had to get a thing online today that cost $1. That counts.

Just keep receipts or printout confirmations of any of these in case you need to dispute anything.

As for ING... well, some banks take it as DD and so do not. I do not know about this yet because I have not tried it.

Worst case: in Southern California, you can charge $0.25 in a parking meter. So, worst case, $1.25 per month.

So I could do a mileage run to San Diego and rent a car so I need to pay a meter a few times a month and then come home with everything all set!:D

I used it at Walgreen when it has those 5 for $1 Royal Jelly sale. Used alternate cards I bought a pack or 2 packs each time. Walked around the store and came back to do the second pair. Since the sale went on for a week I repeated it during the week and took care of it. Incidentally Walgreen has the same thing on sale this week. You can drop off those packs at a food bank near you if you dont use them.

Or you can pay utilities online by small fractions but I like the Walgreen method more. :)

I do the same...usually for lunch, I get 3-4 items so I just split up the purchases if there isn't too much of a line.

I went ahead and signed up for the business account in the branch and was automatically upgraded to Premium Checking for free with monthly fee limitations waived (according to the rep I was dealing with)...I'm going to call in and double check this to be safe though.

What documentation do you need to bring in to open a biz account at a branch?

Sole proprietor using my legal name and SSN.

Can anyone who opened a business account answer about the documentation?

I am the manager of an LLC and brought the IRS EIN documentation, State of Delaware Certificate of Formation of a Limited Liability Company, and personal identification (one picture ID and one credit/debit card).

I just realized that I don't believe they asked me for my CO Onepass number when signing up for my biz account...I hope they copied it from my personal account...

I believe this depends on State's own regulation because I certain knows some folks who dont need to bring anything in some states.

Signed up at the end of August and have only received 15k points so far. I have an existing Chase account but will still follow up with Chase to see what's up.

I signed up for a biz and pers acct several months ago. There was no asking for any biz documentation.

Apparently, I was "upgraded" to some sort of biz acct which lets me have the pers acct without having to do anything to avoid monthly fees.

I was told that was also true on the biz acct, but Chase's computer didn't agree. One month I did not make any charges on the biz acct and got dinged $12. A call to customer service got the fee credited back and elicited the info that the biz acct had to have five transactions a month to avoid fees.

So, I am buying five coffees a month on the biz acct. I am down very little here because I get Conti miles at $1 to a mile on the biz card.

I do note that I was supposed to get 55K miles in total on the two accounts and now, several months later, have only gotten 47.5K. May have to drop by the branch one of these days to see what the story is.

My six months is up soon. Just wondering if the offer will continue into next year so I can do it all over? :D

When I signed up for a bus. account in late September they asked for a copy of the IRS EIN document for my company. Luckily I had it with me. Like Happy said a couple posts up, I think it depends on your state's regulations.

Check to see if you can split the direct deposit of your paycheck to more than one bank. I am able to direct an "allotment" to two additional financial institutions, so I have $5 from my paycheck direct deposited to the Chase account each pay period with the remainder direct deposited to my primary checking account at another financial institution. The $5 per paycheck has sufficed to keep me from paying the monthly fee and no need to make debit transactions.
