I already have chase can I add a account to the one I have and get the same offer as long as i do direct deposit

Marathon Man Oct 21, 2010 6:47 pm

As an FYI I have been completely successful in setting up my chase checking WITH the 25k mile coupon code ONLINE.

How you ask? When? huh?

Well I called chase today. They said this offer can be done in branch but ALSO online. I went and found different checking accts for chase and was not sure which one. After all, pick the wrong offer and it's already coded so you could lose out.

then this chat button from chase pops up. So I ask it about the offer and which one to do. it gives me a link:

https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?...=&code=&DEBIT=

I say thanks and go thru it starting with my zip.

Lemme tell ya, this was the easiest, most thorough and smartest link for such a thing I have done yet. It let me enter my coupon code, and it was easy to fill in steps. It even SHOWS YOU the two mile deposit things... it says... 10,000 miles --enter CO number... then on another line 15000 Co miles--enter CO number.

So it knows what to do if you do all the things in the terms. And there you go, it shows us that we will in fact get miles.

Toward the latter 3/4 of the process when the site asks how I want to fund it I naturally put in my Citi CC but it declined that. I think the reason it did is because I told citi to set my cash advance limit to $0 and since this probably tried to go thru as one, it declined it. It just asked me to put in a checking acct so I used my BofA one to do that instead and funded with $150. Then this site knew to skip thru the pages I already did and I was finished rather quickly. I printed everything.

Point is, I have my checking acct set up and I guess I just gotta wait to get miles. Oh, it even gave choices as to whether you wanted savings and let me chose which debit card I wanted. I said no to savings and I chose the $25 card.

Go for it! There's still time!

:)MM

Is there reason for concern?

Hi,

My first statement for personal checking account has closed on oct 19th.I have done 6 debit as credit card transactions. I haven't seen any miles for anything whether it be promotion or transaction.

Also, I think I read somewhere chase happen to magically find one pass number but a new one was created for me( no big deal , had 0 in old one).

Called chase and rep told me she l transfer me to specialist dept and assured me it chase dept dealing with continental miles but she connected me to continental reservation. So just disconnected.

Should I wait keep waiting , take some action. I saw post before where people had their miles posted pretty quickly at least first batch.

PS: There is one more account which has same issue.

For me monthly spend miles usually post within about 2 days of the statement, so you should see something tomorrow. Promo miles have taken longer to post.

Thanks Onthego15 for your reply,

Okay then I guess I will wait for some more time.

You can call CO to ask them if there are 2 OnePass Accounts under your name and they can merge it.

Bonus miles posted long before our statement dates in our case. We opened the accounts at the branch on 09/16, bonuses posted first week of October and bearing the date of 10/04 on CO site. Statement date was 10/16. The $25 fee has not been billed yet.

Dracs

Same thing happened with my wife and I. I guess I'll wait until the miles post to the new account, then merge them.

For those who have opened personal account, can we open a biz account and get the bonus, within the same year?

I would like to know also. The T&Cs say if you have a current checking account then you're not eligible. But, are personal and business accounts treated the same or considered separate?

Also, can business accounts be opened on-line?

You can open both a business and a personal checking account and get the bonus both times. Opened a personal checking account the end of Sept. and just opened a business account last week. Have the printouts from the branch to show that I am qualified.

Also, if you look at the bottom of the Chase Checking Statement it will show the Continental account that the miles are being posted to.

Can you open the biz card online or should go to the branch?

It has been reported many times upthread.

biz account must be opened at the branch and it is not available for all states. I believe the fine print of the offer has the list of eligible states.

So are you saying that you personally have been able to successfully open a business account on-line and have actually completed the process? Or are you saying that you have opened a personal account on-line, which has been easy for almost anyone to do for at least the last year, then casually glanced at the business application process and declared that since it works for the personal account, it is of course easy to accomplish for the business account as well.

If it is the former, you would be the first one so far that I have seen give a credible account of actually opening a business account on-line. Thus far everyone who says you can definitely open a business account on-line, hasn't 'actually' done it.

Of course many many have easily opened personal accounts on-line.
