I signed up for the personal checking account to receive 25,000 miles

It is strange but My co worker and I both got it
Do you think the miles will post by the end of the year so we're eligible again next year? |

CO just announced that the OnePass will be separate from MP throughout 2011. We are very likely to score another miles from this offer for the last time next year.

Hello everyone! I'm new to FT and just like to thank everyone for their inputs=)
Finally went to Chase to open the checking acct..both personal & business. Opened the business one for the 10k..didn't want to pay the 65 annual fee for the remainder 15k. However on the personal i did the whole 25k with the CO debit card with the 25 annual fee. I rec one tracking for the biz acct for 10k(and thats fine) & I rec one tracking for the personal for the 15k. I asked the CSR as to why it says 15k, when I opened the personal for the 25k...all she said was that she entered the coupon code and thats what printed out....but if all the miles don't post after the debit trannies within the 6-8 weeks time frame to let her know to correct it. Has anyone experienced receiving only 1 tracking # and receiving the total 25k? I'm super excited!!!!!! I just enrolled in the OnePass FF last week and now opened up the bank accts and gonna apply for the cc offer to get an additional 30k! If all goes as planned I'll have 65k CO onepass in no time!!!! Oh yeah, forgot to mention the 2,500 bonus miles I'd get for getting the CO debit card! |

Read back several pages up thread you should find a Chase phone number - in case you do not receive your other 10K, you need to call THAT number to sort it out. All other telephone numbers would not help you. |
Not too bad if you need to open a checking account.

Opened my Chase account today (3rd one in 3 years) but FYI from Feb 8 next year the minimum balance to not incur fees for the basic checking account will be $1500 and the monthly direct debit must be for at least $500 (or it may have been $400).
Guess they are getting wise to us and as we all know the banks have managed our money so well that we won't mind giving them some more in fees just so they can pay theirs boards mega bucks for doing a total screw up (sorry - just venting). |

The $500 min changes things for me.
I was putting in $125 twice a month to the Chase account and the rest of my pay into my regular bank. Now I have to increase that to $500 each time. The $250 was easy to manage by paying a few bills (chase cards) out of that account. Now I have to pay $1000 worth of bills out of the account. I can change my direct deposit information and amount online. The other option is to modify the amount each pay cycle. Chase only needs $500 once a month, so the other DD during the month can be $25. That will be a pain to manage. |

That sounds like a pain. Can't you setup a transfer from your main checking immediately after your DD hits?
Monthly Service Fee None when you have 5 or more debit card purchases (withdrawals from the ATM or cash advance transactions do not qualify) or a direct deposit post to your account during each statement period. The direct deposit qualifier changes to at least one direct deposit of $500 or more and takes effect with the statement periods beginning February 8, 2011. Two or more direct deposits that add up to $500 or more but do not individually equal or exceed $500, do not qualify; otherwise $6 per month My plan for my personal accounts is to use the $500 DD and then transfer to deposit to my "real" account. For the business accounts I will just use the 5 debit card purchases. Does not sound like there will be a minimum amount for the debit purchases. If the offer is extended into next year I wonder if the Premier Checking will qualify us the bonus miles? If so, most of us should all be OK in that the terms for the Premier checking are: 5Service Fee Waiver: Combined monthly average ledger balance of $15,000 or more in this account and any consumer checking accounts, consumer savings accounts, CDs, certain Retirement CDs, certain Chase Retirement Money Market Accounts, outstanding balances in first mortgage accounts (with servicing retained by the Bank; must be in good standing), lines of credit (including Credit Card) and installment loans (lines of credit/ loans must be in good standing), Chase Investment Services Corp. investment accounts (last investment statement balance, excluding certain retirement plan investment balances), JPMorgan Funds† accounts (prior end of month balances), annuity products (annuities made available through Chase Insurance Agency, Inc. (CIA) and Chase Insurance Agency Services, Inc.), and personal trust accounts (last business day of prior month) linked for pricing with this account is maintained during the monthly statement period. So if you have a Chase CC (United, Continental, Marriott etc.) with a $15K line of credit, the account would be free. Another option is to just take $1,500 in coins in for the deposit and let them sit there for the 6 months. |
So, at the risk of being flamed, how can one open both Business and Personal and not violate the "customer must not have existing checking account" part? Once I open a Personal, then I have an "existing" account, right?
OTOH, If I have a joint account now with my husband (which I do), but it's in my tax ID, can he open a new personal and/or business? Do I need to remove him from our 2 joint checking accounts first? |
