[QUOTE=barelyelite;15447168]I opened a new checking account pursuant to this offer a few weeks ago and have already made the five debit card purchases required to get all the miles.

However, I went back to the offer page today, and one of the terms is "This bonus mile offer is not available to customers with an existing Chase checking account." I could have sworn I read the full offer several times before I signed up and that this term was not present. Is this something new?[/QUOT

Those terms were definitely there when I got my account in May.

I think its been around for at least six months or more.

It's been one month since I opened my account and have not recieved my debit card or checks. I made this clear to the Chase branch I opened with last week and said even though I had opened an account the banker never ordered my card or checks and they had my card shipped and delivered today, which I will pick up at lunch.

My question is what should I try to get from this bad deal? I am going to make sure they waive the $25 first year fee, but was wondering if anyone had any other experiences with what they have gotten from bad service from Chase.

Did anyone successfully open the biz account twice in 2010 and got 25K (or 15K) bonus miles for both?

The delivery of the debit card could take 7-10 business days. You should definitely contact the customer service or your branch banker.

You should get a check book when opening your checking account. I got mine when I opened mine.

It seems that Chase does not offer anymore a Continental Debit card with Online application for personal Checking account. If you are going to open a personal Checking account online, you will get only 10,000 OnePass miles for opening, and in order to get 15,000 miles for a Continental Debit Card, you have to go to a Chase branch where they manually enter a coupon code in order to activate this (debit) offer.

1) The language has been there for at least 6 months.

2) The 5 debit card non-PIN transactions are for avoiding the monthly fee. Only 1 debit card non-PIN transaction is needed to get one of the two bonuses (the other one is for opening the account itself.)

People please read the Ts and Cs with some attention because everything is quite clearly spelled out in the small print text portion (not the headline bulletin points, but in the small print details.)

The initial check book you got does not have your info on it other than the account number. About 3 or 4 weeks later you get another package which contains the checkbook with pre-printed name/address.

As I understand it, you get the 10k miles for either a) five non-PIN transactions or b) repeating direct deposit. You get another 15k miles with your first non-PIN transaction specifically with the Continental branded debit card. As I read it, you don't get any miles simply by virtue of opening the account.

Still can't believe I missed the restriction on existing checking accounts :o. Shouldn't be a problem, though, because the banker confirmed that I was registered for the offer, and my only other Chase checking account is joint with my father.

The original offer has the 10K for NEW Account Opening.

I see the new page now shows the 5 debit card transactions are required.

They also take away the first free check bag effective April 2011.

From the 2 surveys we received, Chase would most likely NOT offer similar bonuses next year. They are gauging what kind of benefits would entice people to sign up but the bonus suggested in the surveys is a measly 2,500 miles only. We did get 1000 UA miles each for completing the surveys.

Well, we shall see. I'm looking forward to one more round of bonuses, even if it's a reduced number, but not by that much!

The 2 Surveys we got were totally different - the questions asked basically told me that Chase wanted to know which type(s) of offers were more appealing - unfortunately, none has any bonus miles more than 2,500 for account opening. The possible bennie is the ability to earn EQM, which could appeal to some folks.

On top of that, the free check bag bennie will be gone Apr 2011.

The new offers in the work seem to be more gearing to bigger earning via spending and this makes far more sense from the bank's view point. This also explains why the DD will be up to $500 in order to waive the monthly fee.

Here comes the dilemma that the CO Mileathon is coming 1/1/2011 and whether this promotion will remain after 12/31/2010.
