Great.. just got back from my Chase branch (a former WAMU)...that was an easy 50k CO Onepass miles for 30 minutes of time opening a personal and business account! I'll go back later and try to open up a third account for another 25k miles. ^ ^ ^ :D

And, of course, you registered for the Mileathon promotion before you opened these accounts, right?

(Not necessarily the accounts themselves, but any new credit/debit cards that may be linked to them.)

Of course :D ^, I figure I'm up to 40 credits just today and then another 70 in the next two weeks ^

Are you saying you're up to 40 credits from the two debit cards? Is there anything there to indicate that the 20 credits from a debit card can be earned more than once?

I am sure opening them is no problem, but whether you get multiple bonuses is to be determined.. I am reading their fine print:

"Account opening and award of premium are subject to approval. Limit one business checking account-related premium per customer per calendar year. Attempts to earn multiple premiums may be voided by Chase, at its discretion."

We shall see; I don't see any fine print yet so I'm going to try anyway as I took it as you can earn credits for each activity, no limits really...As it happened I was in the process of moving my personal checking and business checking accounts to a new bank (in this case, Chase). By opening both today...after registering for the mileathon...I received a confirmation printout from Chase saying yes I qualified for the 25k miles bonus for each account b/c I got the Continental Onepass debit cards for each account. Then on the mileathon page it shows what the "credit earning activities" are, among them of course is "acquire a debit card from Chase" 20 credits...I got two...I'm going to apply for the "credit" cards, both personal and business.....hope to get 25k each for that, and 50 credits each for that...plus a few other "credit earning activities" and I should hopefully hit 150 credits and another 50k bonus miles as a reward. Hopefully it pans out; if not, on to the next mileage earning deal.

Uhh...I never said I was going to open another business checking account...you haven't read my posts clearly enough.

Now I am sitting here feeling bad for not being able to take advantage of this...:(

I had opened a checking account with WAMU in January for a $100 bonus. When I tried to open the account with Chase, I was told I could not open another personal account and get another benefit for 12 months (not a calendar year per the banker.) This is understandable, but I was bumping my head to the banker's desk. If I had known about this, I would have gotten the 25,000 miles rather than the $100 bonus without second thought.

Then I tried the business account. I was told that the computer screen asked for a copy of my Sch C/EIN/business license, which I don't have. Is anyone asked for this, or just me? I was getting excited to get 50,000 miles for two HKG-NRT tickets next year. Now I have to wait longer, or use AA (where I parked most of the miles) with the worse redemption rate. :(

Yea, that's a bummer alright...I almost did the $100 offer last month after seeing a promo with my mortgage statement from Chase; two RT award tix to Hawaii or Europe is worth more to me than $100...I had been on WebFlyer and on FT in this thread which is where I saw the 25k offer...I was just in the right place at the right time. Come January, I will see if there is another similar Chase account offer as I normally have a secondary business checking account also...if they have the offer I will try again.

By the way, the T&C for the Chase 25k Onepass offer says "calendar year" so try again in January if there is another offer.

Those w:rolleyes:nderful pe:rolleyes:ple at Chase managed to ignore the OnePass numbers I gave them when I opened our account. My wife and I recently received new OnePass numbers. I couldn't figure out why. Now I know. My account has a whopping seven miles in it -- from debit card purchases. I suppose I should wait until the bonus miles post before merging the accounts.

Even stranger -- I just noticed that my 25k bonus miles posted to the correct OnePass account, whose number I gave Chase when I opened my account.

Now that I have my miles, should I just close the account? Or can I at least turn off my direct deposit since it's a pain to get the money out of it? Will there be any monthly fees if I do that?

I'd also like to know the answer to this - is it 6 months that you have to wait before cancelling without risking your points, or only 3. I've heard conflicting responses to this before.

Wirelessly posted (palm: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile 6.0) Sprint Treo850e)

they claim 6 mos.

caseydeg Sep 12, 2009 10:06 pm

Where do you see 6 months? I don't see anything about the duration the acct needs to be open on the fineprint of the offer sheet/coupon.
