However, I read FW that paypal and ING do not count as DD for Chase (but other bank or brokerage account push should be fine). I am waiting WAMU to merge in to Chase system (in California) in Oct end so I can open one and get bonus. |

I just opened the 25,000 offer yesterday. From what I read, if you already have a chase credit card then they just do a soft pull on your credit. I asked if I could fund with credit card but they said it would be a cash advance, not purchase. Anyways this is stilll a good offer one can do every year ! Probably the only "churnable" offer by Chase, no?

Fine Print
Now, I'm reading the "important information" it reads,
to qualify for the first 10,000 bonus points you must make 5 debit card purchases OR initiate a repeating direct deposit. Initial 10,000 bonus miles will be depositedin your One Pass account 6=10 weeks after the 5 debit card purchases OR initial direct deposit has posted. The key word here being.... OR ..... THE SECOUND 15,000 WILL BE CREDITED AFTER THE FIRST PURCHASE. WHAT AM I MISSING???? |

Where are you getting this language from? There is no "or" on the Chase coupon...
There is. Both on the coupon and in the T&Cs. |

The current offer (linked to above) says (in part) this:
you must open a new Chase CheckingSM account with a $100 minimum opening deposit of new money (money not currently held by Chase or its affiliates). Also, to qualify for the first 10,000 bonus miles you must make 5 debit card purchases with any Chase debit card linked or used to access the new account or initiate a repeating direct deposit such as payroll, Social Security or other government benefits. The 5 debit card purchases or first direct deposit must be completed within 60 days of account opening to earn the bonus miles. ... The second 15,000 bonus miles will be credited to the cardholder's OnePass account after the first qualifying purchase is made with your Chase Continental Airlines Preferred Debit Card or Chase Continental Airlines Debit Card. |
your right. 6 will do it for sure.

I am confused. I am someone who won't be doing Direct Deposit:
1) I get the first chunk of bonus miles (10,000) after 5 debit transactions using the generic debit card that comes with the account? 2) And then the 2nd chunk of bonus miles (15,000) comes after signing up for, and using the Continental debit card? |

The first chunk comes from having and using any debit card linked to the account This includes the free debit card or any other. The second comes from having and using one of the Continental debit cards linked to the account. The least expensive Continental debit card is $25/year.
