Although it has nothing to do with earning/keeping the bonus miles, my "Account and Regulations" sheet states I must keep my TX account open 90 days to avoid a $25 "account closing" fee. YMMV.

Did they do a credit pull to open these accounts? I'm looking at a home refinance in a few months, and don't want too many credit pulls. Thx.

Procedural question for those of you that have "churned" this deal -- is there a way to close the account without going to the branch? Or more specifically, when you close down the account and open up another account a few months later, what kind of a response do you get from the banker?

While there are a couple of Chase branches near my house, I'd have a hard time going to the same banker and explaining to him that I want to close both accounts (business and personal), only to open new ones a couple of weeks later.

Any thoughts? Gracias!

From #134, you can only open one of each account per calendar year. So, unless you're doing this in late December, you're not going to be "opening new ones a couple of weeks later".

I think you misread my post. I said closing an account and then opening an account a few weeks later. Not opening an account and then opening another account a few weeks later....

I think the coupon explains a lot. When I opened my first account I started a travel dialog with the rep. and talked miles. The next opportunity I had to open another acct I asked for him-he remembered me and asked more questions, called his manager in and introduced her as a former travel agent and they both started suggesting places to go. When I left they jokingly called me their favorite points pirate :D

I'm going back next week to open the business checking and in January, hopefully another!

I must be confused...

So I signed up for both the business and personal accounts, and the personal account bonus posted back in August. The business card bonus just posted to my account today, but I received 22,500 miles instead of the 25,000 I was expecting. Do the 2,500 post later on, or did I do something wrong?

09/10/2009 Continental Debit Bonus 12,500
09/10/2009 Chase Checking Bonus 10,000
09/01/2009 Chase Debit Purchases 23
08/21/2009 Continental Debit Bonus 12,500
08/21/2009 Continental Debit Bonus 12,500

Thanks if anyone has any thoughts!

I was told it would happen mid-month the calendar month following when I opened the account.

Is there anything there to indicate that the 20 credits from a debit card can be earned more than once?

No. Actually quite the opposite.

Is the offer gone? I get a 'Page not found' when trying to click the 'Print Coupon' button:

I had the exact thing happen to me yesterday. My banker said that 2500 miles will post separately. According to him this is the amount of miles you would get anyway if you signed up for Chase Continental Checking account even without this promo. Will see.

Thanks, happy to hear I'm not the only one. It kind of makes sense, since the sheets they print out as a confirmation say 12,500 miles and 10,000 miles, so that would explain the other 2,500 miles.

I noticed the same thing, but if you Google the offer code ID showing on the page where the 'Print Coupon' button is you will find another chase.com url that will allow you to print the coupon.

Maybe their web designers are moving things around without ensuring all of the linked pages flow over. Dunno really...

Thanks coastalguy- I googled it and found some active coupons.

From what I understand, it is $25 for the personal and $65 for the business. Add another $25 in costs/fees to fulfill the requirements and it comes to $50 for the personal, and $90 for the business.

Is $90 plus the effort worth it for 25K Onepass miles? Can anyone venture an opinion on this?

Just open it up as a sole proprietorship, with the business name being your name. No requirements really.
