I think you're limited to one 1 personal and 1 business offer per year.

two quick questions.

1) i opened my checking accounts without giving my onepass number as i dont remember. (since i dont fly CO often).
what phone number should i call to add it back?

2) what is a qualifying purchases?
using credit instead of debit, and signature required?

I opened one last December and still have it open. Where do you go to cancel the card/close the account? Also, will Chase see that I closed one recently and not let me open up another one so soon to get the miles again? Is there a certain time period I should wait in between?

Also, I was dumb and didn't get all of my bonus miles last time because I thought you only had to use the debit card once or like three times to get them- not 5 times... I also thought there was no fee if you used the card 3 times a month, and then, I got slapped with the fee :(

business checking without a business

Can you open a Chase business account without actually having a real business ? I know that you can open a business credit card without actually having a business. When opening a business checking account do they require proof of the existence of the business ?

1. Can anyone do this or do you need to actually have a real business? - No problem, just use your SSN, business name is YOUR NAME, what do you do, EBAY.

2. Also, you can open a Personal account at the same time.

Am I missing something?

I have both a business and personal checking account through this offer, and have been making five purchases a month with my business debit card to avoid fees. For some reason I remember reading that the service fee is also waived for the personal card if you have a business card that you keep "active." But I was just charged a $6 monthly service fee on my personal card. So do I really have to make five purchases on both my personal and business card? Bleh!

Thanks

Yes, you are missing something. The "free" Personal with Business account requires certain specific Personal checking account types. If you have the basic personal account, you do not qualify. Check the Terms and Conditions. Good luck and let us know the result.

pbd456,

In short, I think you are confused and not understanding.

Your post was not clear, but I will try to help you.

IF you used your Chase Continental Debit Card to make two credit card type (you did not do a DEBIT purchase that requires a PIN entry), then you have to CREDIT purchases. I believe you did this.

The value of purchase does not matter.

IF your account statement (are your referring to your Chase checking account or your ONEPASS account) (I think you are referring to the Chase checking), list something like this, "10/14/2009 Debit Card Transaction", and you did NOT enter a PIN, you did the right thing.

Thanks. I think you have understood my question perfectly.

I was referring to my Chase checking account.
By looking at the account statement, there is no way to tell if i did the right thing, as all transactions look identical. If there is no record of what i did, what if Chase refuses to grant the bonus miles?

Do your transactions start with "C A*...."?

If so, you're okay, even if it says "Debit Card Transaction" in the "Type" field.

A "real" debit card transaction (i.e., PIN transaction) would not start with "C A*..."

Cheers.

Just curious where you saw that. I'll probably go down to an ex-WAMU branch sometime next week to try, but looking at the web site it still clearly says California branches are excluded.

I was on the phone yesterday with a Chase rep about an unrelated matter. My wife and I had had 3 separate WaMu accounts of different types. During the phone call, we got into to a discussion of what our ex-WaMu accounts will be called under the new Chase system and what the minimum balance requirements would be to avoid account fees. She told me that California WaMu branches will be fully integrated into the Chase system as of this weekend.

I asked about the Continental airlines checking promo, and I was told that it would be available in California this coming week.

I called our local branch and was told that. Planning to go there next week to open up couple of accounts.
