The truth my good man ... I already told them that I am opening the account for the miles nothing more and nothing less. Thus far got 22.5k miles added to my CONT account. I also told them that in case my CONT Chase cc won't be approved I will be opening another checking account with a dc (after Jan. 1st) as I need another 25k to reach that 160k and a free premium seat on EVA.

Yes, I did ask them about that and basically, you have to use your debit card as a credit card, for example at the store.
If the machine asks you for a pin, just hit "cancel" and it will go through the process as a credit card type transaction. |
You don't have to be approved for the Chase Continental debit card do you? I would find that very strange.

The two bonuses posted to my gf's account a few days ago...the personal was opened on 11/20 and they posted in one bonus of 10k and the other of 12.5k.
I'm still waiting for my purchase miles to post from two statements on my own personal account. Has anyone else experienced these delays in getting miles to post from purchases? |

I just noticed that the existing links have been extended until March 31st, 2010 with the wording that indicates one personal and one business promo per calendar year
Also indicates that the $25 personal debit card qualifies for the second 15K miles. January 1st, we all score again :D |
chase checking
Was told yesterday the checking requires 5 debits per month to avoid a fee, or a direct deposit

Do your transactions start with "C A*...."?
If so, you're okay, even if it says "Debit Card Transaction" in the "Type" field. A "real" debit card transaction (i.e., PIN transaction) would not start with "C A*..." Hey guys,...new to Chase and to using Debit cards (have only ever had credit cards and ATMs), so excuse the silly questions to follow,... Signed up last week for the CO/Chase checking account offer. Debit card arrived today,...ran out and made 6 non-pin purchases at a grocery store. When I logged into Chase online shortly thereafter, the 6 transactions appear as follows: Date Type Description Debit Credit Balance Pending Misc. Debit POS DEBIT "STORE / CITY /STATE" $1.86 Pending Misc. Debit POS DEBIT "STORE / CITY /STATE" $1.77 etc, etc,... My questions is, since my transactions do NOT start with "C A*...." as noted above, did something go wrong with my purchases? Or since they are still "pending", will the transactions be updated later with the "C A*...."? Is this normal for Chase online checking? FYI,...in all 6 cases, I chose CREDIT CARD for payment type and did NOT enter a PIN. I signed when each sale was complete. Thanks again for the time. |

Did you also get the Chase Continental debit card or the regular debit card? |
Sorry if it has been asked ... but for the business one, do you need a EIN number?

From my experience and other reports here, we were asked for EIN and it was promptly provided to the banker.

My wild guess is that Chase gets real-time information on the amount of charge, (all the better to sock you with overdraft fees, I'd imagine), then later gets information on the type of charge. |
