For the 25K CO miles promotion, can you open the account online? Or you have to bring the coupon into a Chase branch and do it there?

From 1st post, it seems I have no option to do it online, need someone to confirm. Thanks

You have to go into a branch with the coupon.

I have open an account in sept and again in jan with no problem

Unless you need the miles this second for a trip or something, I would personally wait, because if they come out with something better on United in the coming months, you would not be eligible.

I was wondering, part of the deal is that you have to do some direct depositing. Does direct depositing have to be from your employer, or can it be from an account where you can setup recurring ACH payments, like e-trade? that's easier than goign through HR and all that.

ACH does not work.

or you can do debit card purchases.

The 5 debit card purchases or first direct deposit must be completed within 60 days of account opening to earn the bonus miles.
Welcome to Flyertalk. The requirements to qualify are stated in the fine prints, so it will help to read before you even have to ask.

Hello, I have 2 questions for those with experience on this offer

Ive read and reread every piece of paper Chase gave me on these and I dont see anything listed. I know the offer is only one per year, but If the miles arent credited in 09 (Acct opened last week) can you still open a new account in 2010 and expect the account bonus?

secondly, What are the account time requirements? is there a minimum amount of time you have to keep the acct open? I see references in other chase checking offers to either a 60-90 day or a 6 month minimum requirement or a 25$ fee is charged. I dont see it in the document I have from chase but, I know sometimes these things are buried where no mere mortal can find them.

any help would be great, TIA

I'd like to know too. I printed my coupon, and I'll go down there tomorrow to open account if I get in under the wire for next year. Also do I need to sign up for the Continental Airlines flyer program first? So far I have only done AA's.

Welcome to Flyertalk, galveston1602 and mrarmyant.

You have done the first step right by reading every piece of paper Chase gave you. What you have NOT done is read through at least some of the most recent posts. Your answers have been asked and answered, NOT buried in the middle of the thread, but just within 20 posts of your question.

At Flyertalk, we all ask questions and share information to gain insight to access cheap/free miles. All FTers, before asking questions, are also expected to read through the first and last dozen pages to familiarize with the deal. Search feature should also be used. Most often the same questions have been asked and answered, and if your case, numerous times. We expect all of us to put some efforts in the mileage-earning process.

Again, welcome to Flyertalk. As you learn to use FT, you will be amazed at how informative this is :)

Just to add onto what Buschoi said, Galveston and Armyant your questions have been answered in the last several pages. I even provided the answer to some of them. There was a thread as recent as two days ago in the Continental forum that specifically addressed the questions each of you have posed in regards to the CO Chase deal. That thread should answer your questions as well. And it isn't long, maybe a half page so it is a quick read.

Quick question for those of you that have the Business Checking

The offer says: "25,000 bonus miles* when you open a Chase BusinessClassicSM Checking account, deposit $500 within 30 days of account opening, and make a qualifying purchase with a new Chase Continental Airlines Business Debit Card"

It seems that the minimum to open the account is $25, those of you that opened this account did you deposit the $500 at time of opening or did you open it with less and then meet the minimum amount?

The language is pretty clear.

Playboy

Wow, I dont know how I missed that. I did read the thread, infact I read almost every page, and I think thats where my confusion came from, lots of different opinions without much reference. I was looking for a specific reference in the terms, and with your help I hope to have found it, I will verify it on my accounts when I get home.

Thanks again for the answer

As to the other ?, I guess no one really knows, and Ill just have to find out after the first of the year, assuming they allow you to have 2 accts per type per person open at a time. otherwise, Ill have to wait the 6 months.

Playboy answered this on another post, too, as well as others in older posts. Answer is yes.

Does anyone know whether the hard pull you get for opening this account affects your credit the same as a hard pull for opening a credit card? Or is it counted less?

There is no credit pull when opening a checking account. There was started last week in this forum where the poster asked the same question. It was answered by stating that banks use a system called Checksys(?) and that system doesn't pull your credit.
