Thanks

That is incorrect.

Have you read the fineprint of the offer coupon?

None of the CO mileage-earning debit cards is free.

I have the same question. I got the 22500 miles 7 days after my account was opened. I wonder if I can just close the account and avoid the $25 annual fee, without any negative effects.

Thanks!

Here's a question for the experts here:

The terms say:

"Limit one personal checking account-related reward per customer, per calendar year."

I just completed my 5 transactions today and my miles will probably be credited after the new year. Am I still eligible for another checking account reward in 2010?

Is the reward date the date my onepass account gets credited with the miles or is it the date I complete the 5 transactions?

Can anyone here who works for Chase please comment?

I checked the CO/Chase offer and couldn't find the answer for this ...

Is there a time requirement as to how long one must keep this Chase checking account open to prevent losing the sign-up bonus miles?

A citation or a link to this info is much appreciated.

There is no citation except for writing on the bottom of one of the two confirmation sheets the bank gives you. On the bottom of the confirmation sheet for the 10k mile it reads "The checking account must remain open for a minimum of six months or the 10,000 miles will be debited from the account at closing". The language is pretty clear.

HUH

How are they going to debit the miles if you have moved them?

Thank you Playboy for the above response, and yes it's very clear now ... I have a follow up question:

Having opened my first CO/Chase checking account on 10/30/2009, then am I eligable for the 2010 calendar year account on January 4th or May 3rd?

The fine print says "Limit one personal checking account-related award/premium per customer, per calendar year". I read as you can only get one reward per account once a year. 2010 is a new calendar year so I would tend to think that you can open a new account in 2010.

I opened my acct on 12-18-09 and I plan to open another one on 1-4-10. Having read the prior pages of this thread others have done the same thing.

Open Account in non home state?

I understand that this offer is not available in California. I travel to Georgia a couple of times a year. I never considered the possibility of opening an account in Georgia. If I try to open an account when in Georgia do I need to use a Georgia address or can I use my home address in California and have my statements sent to me in California?

I think so. A couple of pages back I read a post from someone who was on in business in Chicago and that person opened an acct there even though he/she didn't live there.

This offer IS available in California. Several posts in this thread talk about that. I am in Cali myself and opened boths accounts last week.
The wording about the offer not being available in CA was valid before Oct 23rd, which is when all the Cali WAMU became Chase branches.

So go ahead and apply in California!

To repeat a question asked a few posts above, does anyone know if it is the account opening or the date the bonuses were received that count for the calendar year? I opened the accounts last week, so I won't get the bonuses until 2010. Does that mean that I cannot apply for new accounts in 2010?

Thanks

I haven't seen a answer for the question but on the surface one account per year seems to be what the requirement is.

Well, I guess I'll wait to receive the bonuses (just checked and received 10,000 miles so far) and then try to open two accounts again. Don't have much to lose.
What'll be interesting is explaining why I want another 2 new accounts... :D

Thanks

I am in California also and already received the 25K CONT miles for this offer for 2009. I am planning to open my 2010 account in January.

Thank you all ...

chespeak2002 Dec 28, 2009 4:28 pm

For the 25K CO miles promotion, can you open the account online? Or you have to bring the coupon into a Chase branch and do it there?

From 1st post, it seems I have no option to do it online, need someone to confirm. Thanks
