Last night, I applied online for a personal account through the link that was provided above. As of today, my account does not have my OnePass number attached to the debit card. I called Chase at 1-877-242-7372 and spoke with a nice man who confirmed that when I activate the card it should find my OnePass information automatically, although I don't know how. This might explain why some posters have had their information magically appear. He said that if it doesn't show up, I can just call and he will put the number on my account. I also had him confirm the coupon code that was on my account, and he did confirm that I should get 25,000 miles.

same here - I read through the T&C again, and all it has are 2 chunks of miles 10K & 15K. I am not sure where the 12.5K comes from. Based on posts in this thread, it looks like the remaining 2.5K will hit in a month or two...

The receipt I received when opening my account states that for the 15K bonus, 12.5K comes from Chase and 2.5K from Continental, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's just the Chase miles that are posting.

Has anyone tried opening an account this evening? I tried using three different credit cards to fund the account and I received a declination letter each time telling me that if I wanted to continue with opening the account then to please mail a $100 check to a specified address. It can't possibly be a problem with my cards because they are all working. Its strange that it rejected all three cards from three different issuers. I'm thinking it might be a problem with Chase processing credit cards.

You are correct. I looked through the paperwork, and it does say that 12.5K will come from Chase and 2.5K will come from CO. That explains the 22.5K deposit :)

I sent an email to the Chase business people about why I have not received my bonus after more than 10 weeks from opening the account. I suspect it is because I have a personal account and got the bonus for that already. They said:

"I have forwarded your inquiry to our Retail Card
Operations Research team and they will investigate your
inquiry. If you qualify for the incentive, we will credit
your account within 5-7 business days. If the account did
not qualify or the credit has already posted you will
receive a letter of explanation in the mail."

You didn't receive any points? I haven't received the 12.5K and 2.5K after 3 weeks. Maybe I need to call them too.

At 3 weeks, just be patient and have no worries. At 10 weeks with nothing at all I'd say there is a problem.

Has anyone here been successful opening a Business account on-line. I opened personal and business accounts in the branch in December and then just a couple of days ago opened another personal account on-line and it accepted a new coupon code, acknowledged the promotion and picked up my Onepass number on it's own a couple of days later so all looks good on that one. BUT, trying the same with a new business account I get about half way through the application and when I get to the second place you enter the coupon code it always gives me some error like "can't verify coupon code, continue without it?" and I bail out there. Is anyone getting all the way through on-line opening a business account? I suppose I will call them or go to the branch again.

Just for reference, I opened my personal checking account on Jan. 6th and had 22,500 miles credited to OnePass on Jan. 18th. I made the 5 credit transactions within the 2 days of receiving my debit card (arrived on the 8th).

Pretty quick, pretty cool. So, for the extra 2,500 i should add another cardholder or is it too late, or do i need to do something else...?

For those asking if it is a hard credit pull. In my case each time I opened accounts Chase pulled SOFT on Transunion. No hard pulls anywhere. YMMV.

Maybe this is not a good place to ask, but is the chase continental credit card churnable every 6 months?

In addition, there seems to be many (4) kinds of different personal cards. Can I apply each one and get multiple bonus?

Thanks

10000: opening checking account bonus from chase
12500: debit card bonus from chase
2500: debit card bonus from continental

sort of. I don't think additional card matters this time. Just wait and see what's happening...

Probably already in the thread somewhere, but I just opened my account today and thought I would share my experience so far.

I printed the coupon and went over to the local Chase branch. I was lucky since I am just in the USA for another 10 days (live in Thailand, keep my local address here) and it was a quick 5 minute drive to the branch. Took in the coupon and the banker said she had seen 1 before (only 1!) but knew how it worked. The deal for me was open the basic checking that has the $25 annual fee and offers 1 mile for ever $2 spent. There is also a $6 monthly fee that is waived if you make 5 debit purchases (not sure if that is with/without pin) or a recurring $100 direct deposit. As far as I know there is no minimum balance requirement but they would probably nail you for any overdraft events, even if it were a result of the monthly fee.

She entered my OP number and the coupon code, then printed my receipt. I opted to pay $5 to get the debit card in 2 business days rather than the 5-6 that she said was free. I did not order any checks, but that would have cost an extra $20 or so for the basic ones. She then showed me how the online banking worked and my balance at that time said -$5 from the debit card fee since she hadn't put in the $100 yet. The rewards also didn't appear with the OnePass info, apparently this was still updating. I can understand that, but I did make sure to re-verify my 10,000 and 15,000 miles receipts at that time!

Overall it took about 25 minutes and she entered everything directly into the computer so I didn't have to go through the process of handwriting an application first, etc. Then I had to meet every manager in the bank and their brothers, so that added another 15 minutes. But overall very friendly experience and pretty easy for 25k miles.

I plan to go to the local WaMu/Chase here in CA to open an account. Does anyone know if you can get the bonus 15K miles with the lower fee debit card with $25 annual fee as Powers106 did or does it have to be the preferred debit card with the $65 fee?

It says so on the coupon that if you take the $25 option you will still get the same number of miles. I can verify for myself that I got all the miles with the $25 option.

If you don't have a OnePass account when you open the Chase account, I'm assuming one will be opened for you? Or do you need to manually open the OnePass account and then call Chase? Thanks.

If you don't have a OP number, the system will assign one for you when bank account is being setup.
