I had the option of a checking and savings for total of 1k and I just did checking alone for 500$. Man I want smack myself. The chase spend for May woud have been done by this in no time.

Does using a Chase credit card qualify as a purchase when opening a Chase checking acct? Or does it get coded as a cash equivalent purchase that does not earn miles?

Yeah, Chase is getting wise to these ACH deposits and many are not working. My advise would be to do the normal direct deposit and not risk losing 25K miles as you have only 60 days to do this. I lost the 2008 bonus trying with a Citi ACH.

I opened a personal account online with the BA Chase card. The transaction posted as a purchase, not cash equivalent, and my miles have appeared in my CO account.

Coupon Stacking?

Has anybody been successful with stacking the 25k miles coupon with a $200 opening bonus coupon for a new business account?

I would normally just walk into the branch with both coupons and try, but the $200 coupon is no longer available from the Chase website, but can be purchased on ebay. Don't want to pay for it if it won't work.

Did anybody happen to print the $200 coupon and not need it?

FYI: This just showed up on our AA Citibank Visa as a Cash Advance...

This seems to be an issue, Chase claims that they bill as a purchase and Citibank takes it upon themselves to change it to a cash advance and its been going on for a month.

I tried walking in to a branch with the 25k miles coupon and a $100 dollar coupon. The person I talked to did not seem to be entirely on top of things, but after a couple of phone calls she came to the conclusion that although it is possible for her to enter both codes the 25k miles is not combinable with any other offers and I would only end up with the $100, so I didn't risk it. This was for a personal account though.

I opened an account a few days ago and was going to use the same credit card, but at the last minute decided not to risk it so I used a debit card instead. I had read there might be issues and now it seems those reports were correct. Sorry, but thanks for letting us know.

Does this mean now you cannot get miles for both personal and business checking accounts?

This definitely new for this year as I was able to get bonuses with both accounts last year. So new that when I went to open this year's biz account (after doing another personal one earlier this year) the person opening it for me couldn't figure out why the system wasn't accepting my valid coupon #. They even printed out a brand new coupon while there just to make sure it was a fresh number. While they were doing this, I was reading the fine print on the Banker instructions that comes with the coupon and sure enough, it says the bonus is not available to existing checking customers, which they didn't notice either. Of course I didn't point this out to them in hopes that they would find a way to work around the "glitch" they were having trouble with in the system. They even called headquarters to see if they could fix the problem. I had to leave before they came to any conclusions but they said they'd give me a call when and if they get the problem corrected. (Or they actually read the instructions that come with the coupon!)
Doubt I'll get the bonus but thought I'd let them try for me. So far no word...

That may be a different problem. Exactly like you, I opened business and personal accounts last year and another personal account earlier this year. 3 weeks ago I opened another business account. At the time the system would not accept my valid newly printed coupon code. The issue with the system accepting the code turned out to be it will not accept a coupon with the same first 7 digits as the last one I used. It must be from a different series even if it is different years. the solution...... There is more than one link.

Notice.

https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?..._Business_9893

Always yields coupon codes beginning in 3546360

Whereas

https://www.chase.com/index.jsp?pg_n..._Business_9898

Always yields coupon codes beginning in 3546852

The key for me was to switch to the link that did NOT produce the same first 7 digits as the coupon code I used in 2009. That INSTANTLY solved the system not accepting the code problem. You might as well get a new coupon code from a different series, call them up and say, "hey try this code instead".

As for the new language. They added that a few days after i opened my account. It is not on my coupon and I have my receipts and tracking numbers for the miles. All looks well HOWEVER, I completed my deposit and purchases the very days I opened the account and received my debit. No miles have posted yet and others who opened first time accounts after me have already receive there 22,500 already. I have to let 6 weeks pass before I can complain but there seems a hold up for sure. This is the same way it happened with my personal account earlier this year and I was able to resolve that after several months but it looks like I will have to fuss to receive these miles too. Now I am in wait and see mode and holding my tracking number letters close.

I asked this on another thread with no response, so I thought I'd ask here - I have a OnePass account but the wife does not.
Can we both sign up for the Chase checking account and have all miles (50K) go into *my* account or does she need to sign up for a OnePass acct also?

Cheers.

I would wait a little longer. I opened both personal and business accounts in late March. Only 22,500 miles have posted so far.

No. The name on the OnePass account has to match the actual bank account. However, you wife can book a ticket in your name without a problem.

That might work. I need 55K for my round trip ticket, but I guess we could each buy a one-way for 27.5K ^

Scratch that. Looks like reward travel would be need to be round-trip.
