Has anyone had any experience with that? Thanks!
I was on the phone with Chase on a different matter last week, but did confirm with the CSR that there was no "minimum amount" to direct deposit into a personal account to avoid the monthly service fee. Nor did I see anything in regards to a minimum in the account documentation or on their website. I've set up $10/month for my personal account & Mrs. Aces personal account. Haven't had a statement yet though so can't confirm that the CSR was correct. And of course there isn't a direct deposit option for service fee waiver on the Biz Account.

As far as miles posting, I opened both a Biz & Personal account ($65 & $25 debit cards) on 12/26/09. Took about a week to receive both cards in the mail and I used them within a day or two.

1/6 10,000
1/13 12,500
1/13 10,000
1/18 12,500
Still waiting on the pair of 2.5K's from Continental
EDIT 3/2/10: Received the pair of 2.5K's at the end of February. They both came in a few days after statement closing for the period that contained the annual fees for the cards ($65 & $25)

Mrs. Aces did the same deal above and opened both accounts on 12/29/09.

1/6 10,000
1/25 12,500
1/25 12,500
1/25 10,000
Also still waiting on the pair of 2.5K's
EDIT 3/2/10: Also received the pair of 2.5K's - same info as above

Agree with what you say there, I also didn't see anything in the documentation about minimum amount for the direct deposit. And, being about the same time frame as you for the account opening, I am still waiting, too, for the final 2,500.

Cheers

I've had the chase checking account for about a year now, and for direct deposit I just do $5 a month from my ING account and it has worked fine so no fees. Since I opened the ING Electric orange account on Black Friday and used the new debit card for 3 burger king cards at $1 each I received the $120 bonus, so the $5 a month to Chase is covered for almost 2 years!

I received Mileathon credit two months after I opened a personal account in the summer 09. But I have not received any mileathon credit for a business account I opened in the Fall.

I called and spoke with customer service regarding the missing mileathon activity and was told that they are behind and she was told that only part of November had been updated and that this would not be up to date until next month? So, I will continue to be patient and hope it all gets worked out next month.

well the chase banker i worked with said if i opened a ?preferred checking account and kept 1500 minimum balance in there i could avoid the service charges and having to do either direct deposit or 5 transaction a month so i did that. there are numerous ways to avoid paying the fees depending on how much relationship you have with chase so the information given you regarding to minimum deposit to avoid fees was not true. they have a nice poster board if you go into a branch outlining all your options.

What exactly do you do to create a direct deposit?
Is that just any EFT will do?
I was under the impression that it should be only your paycheck.

Thanks to all for making me aware of this great offer
Can anyone confirm that miles are given for accounts opened online with the correct code?

EDIT: Reading through a few pages, it looks like people are getting the miles after opening the account online. ^

This is really weird - wife & I opened accounts couple of days apart. I received 10K and 12.5K, still waiting for the remaining 2.5k. My wife recently completed her 5 transactions, but has received 2.5K and 10K so far, still waiting for the remaining 12.5K. I can't understand why there is such a disparity in the bonus miles deposits...

People applied online but so far no report that they got the miles (unless I missed it). The coupon says the accounts must be opened in a branch.

Please report if you get the miles from an online application.

Debit Bonus Posted

A debit card bonus for 12,500 was posted into my account on 1/27. This follows the 10,000 chase checking bonus on 1/13. This is for my biz accounts. My personal debit card did not arrive until a few days ago and I don't expect miles to be posted for 4 - 6 weeks. As I previously posted this account was opened at a local branch on 1/8. My transaction for the biz account was on 1/15.

Madame Tondoleo's account was opened online on 1/14. Her first debit card transaction was 1/19 on the date she received the CO debit card. To date only some of the debit card transactions have posted. She emailed Chase and was told it takes 4 - 6 weeks for personal account bonuses points to be posted.

For those who have been around this forum for a while, is there any reason not to open an account now? Historically, is 25k miles the highest bonus that you can expect from Chase and CO?

Thanks

Well last year I beleive it started out as a 21K offer. At some point that one expired and the newer offer was for 25K (the current offer). The current offer I beleive expires 3/31/2010. Possible they will up the offer past that, but there is also a chance it will go away completely. That is why I opted to take the guaranteed 25K now rather than wait until 4/1 to see what happens.

25K miles is pretty much a lot of bonus for opening an account, unless you are targeted for the bonus of 40K or 50K miles. But that's very rare.
