This has been the most painful and ridiculous process ever...
- Couldn't get my routing # for x amount of days b/c it was a "new account" and nobody could see what state I opened it in b/c it was opened online.
- Online checking account verification didn't work for me, so I had to do the deposits. They showed up. I entered them in twice while staring right at them. Said they were wrong.
- Then spent ONE HOUR on the phone w/a level 2 "tech" to try and fix it. He determined they wanted screenshots and that there's a coding error on the site.
- I now have no bank account added and they want to leave it there so their tech team can address it.
- Today I got a call from Citi and they want a fax of my Drivers License for verification of who I am... okay.
- Today I tried to login, says my password is wrong and wants my debit card number to enter the account. Haven't received the debit card, can't login.
- Called and they said there's no entering the account now until I receive the debit card. So much for freaking making a bill payment and DD this month, gosh danget!
Gonna send all of this and more as a formal complaint to the company and maybe there will be some recompensation for the hours more that I will still have to spend on the phone w/Citi to work it all out. What the heck?

Forgot to mention they also asked on the phone today if I claimed my debit card lost (that I haven't received yet)... I said no?! They said that this morning it was canceled and a new one sent... So now not only do I have to wait on all the other screwed up things, but for not 1, but 2 debit cards to arrive before I can have online access again amongst the coding errors and other things. Didn't think this would be that hard after opening dozens of other online checking, savings, and brokerage accounts.

I did this promo last Fall. I did the first month's bill payment online directly from my Citi checking account, only to learn subsequently that my payment did not qualify for this promo. As such, I lost a month in my quest for the Thank You points
For the balance of the promo, I called in to Customer Service, had them look up the promo rules, and then had them make the payment in such a manner that it qualified. I don't know what I did wrong, or what CS did differently. I only learned that Customer Service will make a "qualified" bill pay for you....and you should just let them handle it.

All I can do is relate my experience, and recommend you make your payment via Citibank Customer Service. Best of luck to all.

Why did you say "blacklist?" I still have their citi cards. I received a letter yesterday that based on Equifax, citi was declined and didn't give me the reason. The thing I dont understand is that when I check my equifax, I dont see a pull from citi. I applied my checking account 1 week ago. I dont know it is a soft pull or a hard pull or the pull is not on my report yet (maybe 2 or 3 more days, the pull will appear). But I am still confused, if I received the letter, the pull must be on my Equifax if I checked yesterday. So confused.

I'm not saying this is true in your case, only Citi knows and they ain't saying. Often you will get the declined credit reason as "previous unsatisfactory relationship".
