Any data points on how long to wait after cancelling TD card to reapply? Or is the signup date more important? Cancelled in July, had it just less than 1 year.

i thought it was 6 months from application date of the card. you could apply right after cancellation providing you are 6 months + out.

Saw this today for the RBC BA Visa Infinite card. Is this the best offer out there at the moment? We have a large spend coming up within 3 months so I could easily make the spend. We can use the Avios next year but if there is a better deal out there for a better return, I'm all ears.

Earn up to 50,000 bonus Avios^ with an RBC® British Airways Visa Infinite‡ card
Successfully apply for the RBC® British Airways Visa Infinite‡ card before October 31 and earn up to 50,000 bonus Avios. Receive 15,000 Avios when your application is approved^. Plus, apply before October 31, 2016 and you’ll collect an extra 35,000 Avios if you spend $9,000 CAD in the first 3 months using your card^.

Data point for the RBC Westjet World Elite mastercard:
Applied in August 2015 with annual fee waived as part of VIP banking.
Called to cancel after 1 year once annual fee was applied and had it waived for self and wife's card - I said that wanted to start collecting aeroplan miles.
Had about $35k spend on it in the last 12 months.

Data point on the Best Western Card. I applied for it in mid-July. Took my time hitting the $2k mark...but did it before my third billing cycle, which just hit last week. Looked today and I have the full 60k sign-up bonus in there now.

Phew...now I can put this thing in the drawer. Right now its got a big credit limit on it that i can use to open up my next AS card if need be.

I believe so but I only had VIP banking for 3 months last year.
RBC threw in VIP banking for 3 months when I got my mortgage with them- naturally took advantage and got this card and free cheques and then cancelled it after 3 months.
