My wife and I each had a stay at Country Inn on Saturday and the bonus points posted to our accounts today!

Points from a stay at the Country Inn on 5/26 posted this morning, all bonuses too.

Also $ from topcashback show up, as pending!

Looking forward to Radisson stay, the true test will be in europe!

So what is the agreed on market value of a Club Carlson Points?
I think that I will use my points in Cash and Points stays.
Upon first analysis of my future planned redemptions, I can get value of $0.005 per point.
Awards nights may be another story.

My recemption for CC points at the Radisson Aruba is in the neighborhood of 1.2 CPP. Probably on the high end but I certainly found good value there.

For those that used Topcashback, how long did it take to appear? I reserved through them a few days back and don't see anything pending yet (or even listed in Visited section).

Thanks!

Go to My Account, Earnings. They should show up there, though I don't know how long it takes before they do.

rdaven2003 May 31, 2012 3:36 pm

I booked all my rooms today. I did forget to put the 30PCTOFF code in one of the bookings. So, I tried to cancel and it was a non-refundable booking. I called CC and they told me to call Country Inn and see if they would cancel the reg. I called and they would not cancel so I submitted a BRG since I took a screen shot of the lower rate. I am hoping they allow that. I will get 50% instead of 30%. Their loss.
I did use topcashback to book and my New Ink Bold. The card came just in time for the bookings.

I went over memorial day weekend and the first 2 nights have posted as of today, but not the third.... So I'd say it should be about a week.

I stayed at Country Inn on Saturday and Radisson on Sunday. I received the points for Country Inn yesterday and I received the points for Radisson today. I also booked with Top Cash back and checked today and saw the payments as pending. The last time I checked was on Sunday and I saw County Inn but no amount was showing. Today I checked again and both the Country Inn and Radisson showed the amounts and they are still showing as pending.

Points and bonus points posted yesterday for May 26-28 stay at Country Inn & Suites in Atlanta.

Can I book the hotel from expedia? The rate is so expensive on Radisson's own website.

Notfrequent Jun 1, 2012 8:45 am

No Radissons or Park Inns near you? Possible cheap solution

Check out megabus.com. They are currently offering free and dollar bus rides to the following destinations in between Dallas, Houston, Austin and New Orleans.

My husband and I are travelling to Dallas for less than $5.00 for the 2 of us in order to stay at a Radisson which we don't have in Houston. We already completed our Country Inn stays and booked our Park Inn ones, but were wondering how to do a Radisson without buring miles. This was a solution for us. The bus has Wi-Fi and electrical outlets, so I'm a happy camper.

No but after you book it on Radisson.com you can file a lowest price match guarantee.

trayanh99 Jun 1, 2012 9:10 am

Do I have to do the price match immediately after booking from radisson.com?

BTW, need I book rooms in this category:
Club CarlsonDouble Gold Points-Gst Rm-Sleep Nbr

or just the lowest rate one?

Thank you so much!

Book 2 nights with mine and wife's account & than transfer?

Both I and My wife signed up for this 50k & 44k bonus points offer .

If we stay at a Radisson for 2 nights, each night booked with mine and wife's account, from that we will get for 100k points total. but later, Can she transfer her 50k CC points to my account to make mine 100k? Can the same be done with Country Inn 44k bonus deal?

There is 30% off deal until June end I think, should we get the 50k bonus points offer if room is booked using the 30 % off code?

Once I get the 100k points, when does this expire? it ever expires if not used within certain months?

Thanks

apolloms Jun 1, 2012 1:06 pm

I read in the thread that the gov rate earns points, but will it qualify as the night stay for the promotion?

Ancient answer of UNIX gurus - "RTFM" becoming new style of FT?

Anyone know if Park Inn / Radisson / Country Inn will honor a gov't rate for someone with a contractor CAC card?

Hopefully! Such a lazy, selfish world we live in these days.

Earn and Burn!
These points lasted less than 48 hours in my account.
Just booked an award night in europe!
It is ludicrous that one night after taxes is $700!
It is during peak summer sporting event, so I am happy to get a room.
Got redemption value of 1.7CPP.
It did hurt to let go of 50K in one shot since I wanted to use C+P across multiple nigths/stays, but pretty happy to get a room.
No SPG/HH properties in town, so it is good to diversify in hotel programs.

Valid for Active and Retired travelers
Valid for Business or Leisure travel
ID required or military orders required

Yes, I stayed at a Radisson Suites and the points posted.

So the gov't rates don't save you all that much at some properties (sometimes only $1), but the one I was looking at it saves $30. I sent the general manager an email, and he confirmed that gov't contractors (I have official ID) will qualify for the gov't rate and offered to get me in touch with the reservations manager.

So even though it doesn't sound like it will fly in the T's & C's, you might want to try it.

frank_10b Jun 3, 2012 4:03 am

OK,
this can be labeled under stupid of forgetful
I stayed at a country inn and forgot to registrar for that promo, well now of course its only 14K pts and even at that the stay was before the registration. What can I do now? Any suggestions?

i just booked a hotel for next week and the best available rate was 202 and Gov rate was 137.

Potential loophole

I was just awarded 44k bonus points from the Park inn promotion even before I stay at the hotel
Basically, I got the points on May 31st and my stay will be on Jun 14

The hotel is Park Inn by Radisson Hotel and Water Park Albuquerque NM
I detailed it in this post. I think it might be a loophole or error from their part. If someone is willing to test it and report the results
I used Cash and Point option

arollins Jun 3, 2012 8:04 am

Must register to promo prior to stay.

That is definitely unusual,
and as you say in your blog,
"...it is a bad idea for me to brag out their IT failure... ". :D

Seems likely it will be reversed,
but let us know !

people are saying to go thru topcashback for this, but
how do you get the money out of topcashback?
can you use an overseas credit card>

I hope not lol
But most people don't have a Park Inn nearby and if you can get the promo by just booking the Park Inn Albuquerque then it is such a great deal
I just can't test it myself now since I ready get the point

am79mba1 Jun 4, 2012 1:05 am

I'm confused about the term "Park Inn by Radisson", I stayed in Park Inn Gurgaon, India for 2 nights this weekend (one on my name and other on my wife's). This park inn is from Sarovar hotels and is affiliated to Carlson group. So, the name of the hotel doesn't say "Park Inn by Radisson".

Not spending the bonus points after spending about $180 USD would be disappointing.

Anyone knows which are the "participating hotels" for the Park Inn promo?

sbailey08 Jun 4, 2012 11:40 am

might have been asked before

but can people that live in the same household (same home address @ Club Carlson) all sign up for the same promotion, me+mom+sister? I can't imagine that would be an issue but want to check before we all book our stays

Not an issue so long as you meet the terms and conditions: "you must have a valid address and email address and be an individual who is at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in the place where you live, whichever is older."

You're fine. The T&Cs for the promo here say: "Complete a qualifying stay at any Park Inn by Radisson around the world between May 22 and July 22, 2012."
