For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:

For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD.

----

NOTE: You will have greater chances of success if you have greater flexibility on travel dates and cost. If you need a lot of MQMs on weekends only for < 5 cpm it probably won't happen.

Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
----

*"Required Metal or Codeshares" is, approximately, asking whether you need a flight operated specifically by Delta or if partner flights are ok. If you are just looking for MQMs to hit a Medallion tier the normal way, then the answer is yes. If you are doing a status challenge, the answer is also probably yes, but read the T&C of your challenge carefully to be sure (for the regular status challenge the answer is also "yes")

NOTE: some partner flights earn MQMs at reduced rates. See this chart for more info.

Need 4000+ MQDs?
If based in a city that is served by Virgin Atlantic such as IAD, JFK, BOS, MIA, LAS, LAX, SFO one of the best options is to fly to JNB or CPT via LHR. This can be done in a weekend and you can usually earn 4-5000 MQDs for under 1300-1600. You need to select Economy Delight which is similar to regular economy but with more legroom and the possibility of earning 20% of distance as MQDs. This is the most common way to earn large chunks at a cheap price.

You can see the discussion about this above.
For what it's worth, sometime over the last few weeks the DL website has been updated to show that KL "W", "S" and "A" now earn 30% MQD. It also still shows "S" and "A" under "discounted economy" and "W" under "economy" (maybe to accommodate some older tickets?), but I'd feel confident enough now to book KL premium economy and have it credit to DL correctly.

Thinking ahead for 23/24

Hey all! Just thinking in advanced for 23/24. I was able to hit platinum with a lot of work/planning.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to hit platinum in one week around the world? With cost less than $4000

From MCO but willing to reposition, this would mostly be for MQMS, cause I always hit my spending waiver on my AMEX.

Any week, give or take a few days, after April.

Guys, I am looking to hit about 2400MQDs to get qualified for Diamond for '2023. With the new MQD requirements for the next year, I figured it would be better if I can get the 2400 now instead of rolling over miles as platinum for next year. Any help is appreciated. I can do weekday travel, weekends, stayovers - very flexible as I have a remote work environment.

Departure Airport: ATL, can reposition around the East Coast
Miles Needed: 0 MQMs, 2400 MQDs
Required Spend or Budget: $1000
Available Travel Dates: Oct, Nov (first week) and all of Dec
Required Metal: Any Skyteam

How about a trip to Stockholm? Booking the Delta premium economy flight below with Virgin Atlantic will earn about $2800 MQDs.

A trip to Cape Town in economy will get you about 12,700 MQMs.

e.g. Google Flight link

Another option is South America

e.g. Google Flights link. This MR to Lima will earn about 16,000 MQMs

Oh wow thank you! I am assuming SkyTeam flights will count towards MQMs?

Departure Airport: SEA, can reposition around the west coast to PDX, LAX, SLC, etc.
Miles Needed: 0 MQMs, 8k-10k MQDs
Required Spend or Budget: <$4000
Available Travel Dates: Nov/Dec
Required Metal: Any Skyteam

Probably a long shot but... anyone have any ideas for a big MQD run before EOY? Based on the requirements I've been looking at long distance biz fares that earn 40% MQDs on AF/KL. I was seeing some fares to NBO or DXB a few months ago that were <4k but they seem to be gone.

Same as Matthew above. SEA-based. Bajillion MQMs but need to close 12.5K MQDs OR put about 200K on my DL Reserve Amex (presume that costs $4K). So if I can get 12.5K MQDs for $4K then I come out ahead some fun travels :-)

Yes, flights on partner airlines earn MQMs. The earning is different depending on airline and class of fare. Check this link for more information.

Take a look at JFKEZE's post about a SEA - SCL business class run on AeroMexico and taking advantage of long layovers in MEX to do a MEX-TIJ run. You will need to play with the dates in the Google flight link though (e.g. Dec 2 - 3)

Maybe do a run to Mexicali on Aero Mexico in business class? Google Flights link Will earn about $3200 MQDs. use the long layover in MEX to do an inside Mexico run to earn the remaining MQDs or do a $200 from NYC to somewhere.
