For each request, please include the following information:
Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares okay*:
For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A SEPARATE THREAD.
----
NOTE: You will have greater chances of success if you have greater flexibility on travel dates and cost. If you need a lot of MQMs on weekends only for < 5 cpm it probably won't happen.
Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
----
*"Required Metal or Codeshares" is, approximately, asking whether you need a flight operated specifically by Delta or if partner flights are ok. If you are just looking for MQMs to hit a Medallion tier the normal way, then the answer is yes. If you are doing a status challenge, the answer is also probably yes, but read the T&C of your challenge carefully to be sure (for the regular status challenge the answer is also "yes")
NOTE: some partner flights earn MQMs at reduced rates. See this chart for more info.

Need 4000+ MQDs?
If based in a city that is served by Virgin Atlantic such as IAD, JFK, BOS, MIA, LAS, LAX, SFO one of the best options is to fly to JNB or CPT via LHR. This can be done in a weekend and you can usually earn 4-5000 MQDs for under 1300-1600. You need to select Economy Delight which is similar to regular economy but with more legroom and the possibility of earning 20% of distance as MQDs. This is the most common way to earn large chunks at a cheap price.

Other creative possibilities depending how many MQMs you need:
- signup bonuses for various DL-branded AMEX cards (usually have a spend requirement)
- if you already have planned travel, consider buying up (in advance, not at check in) for 50% MQM bonus and more flexible same-day-confirmed options which are another way to increase MQMs
- Hilton 250 MQMs per stay of 2 nights or more
- if you are close to a threshold Delta often will offer a buy-up (at exorbitant prices). 2016 thread, and speculation/anticipation thread for 2017

Thanks Canuck, but I already did this route last year. Is there any other VS/DL Partner route besides JNB that can earn something similar like this?
How about the AM Business class?
How about the AM Business class?
Virgin Atlantic have some of their lower priced Economy Delight fare class flights to JNB back, though not sub $1000, for departures from JFK/IAD/MIA/ATL for dates departing late February/March
e.g., March 5 - 7, IAD - JNB, $1042 (Economy Delight), earns about $4600 MQDs and 23,000 MQMs

There might be some cheaper Aeromexico business class fares from ATL-TIJ (via MEX or GDL). Earns about $2100 MQDs. I am seeing on Google Flights tickets are in the $700 range.

Thank you Canuck. I tried other Mexico Airports such as MID and VSA on AeroMexico (Metal or Ticketed by DL). Regardless if I purchase the business class on AM Metal or AM ticketed by DL, will my MQD be the same?

Aeromexico business class flights earn 40% of the distance flown for MQDs. For example, ATL-MEX-TIJ-MEX-ATL is about 5700 miles and so the MQDs earned on a business class fare would be 5700 miles * 40% or $2280

When do miles get credited on Delta? Departure or Arrival?
I flew transatlantic on December 31 and made Platinum on that flight. Will I qualify for Platinum choice benefits?

Flights are counted based on date of departure. Any segments of your trip that departed on December 31 will count toward your 2021 earnings.

Take a look at the business class flights from BCN to GRU on the premium fare deals disucssion for as low as $1100. Dates available for March travel. You should be able to take positioning flights to/from AMS to BCN.

I think you will have to wait a bit to see how things play out in terms of covid restrictions in the next few months.
