I don't see a different hotel component in the pricing... if cancelling within 24hrs, how does the room part get calculated? Or would I be better off with PDP purchase?

Yeah these are gone. Fringe dates available from some cities Also if someone is wondering about 24hr cancellation, there is no way to find the hotel $ component in advance. It goes to refunds deptt and they will decide it then. Essentially treat it like fully non-refundable.

Kudos to you guys for sharing here.

Is there any penalty for not showing up at the hotel? Or for not picking up the car rental, as the case may be?

I see SFO-LHR-CDG as low as $1409 per passenger. Sample dates April 15 - 21.

Yeah, if the hotel component is non-refundable they won't refund it, even if you try to cancel right after you book (IME).

Definitely still available, and works with car rental instead of hotel as well...

Does it say anywhere what the cancellation policy on the hotel component is?

I think this is dead now. Still showing lower prices during search, but clicking through to select flights reveals 3x prices.

Edit: I think this might be my user error.

Yes. I called and asked AA without giving any details on the deal.

Not only that, package cancellation fee applies as well on the room (unless you have PDP - which is not cheap).
