Everybody is going to do that. Or at least the vast, vast majority of people.

Two questions from me:

1) Is there any way to figure out whether this will track as a special fare after the fact? I didn't see whether the fare had an asterisk at the time of booking.
2) (probably a better question for the BA forum but...) Would a AA ticket with an AA flight number on BA metal count as a BA flight for the purposes of earning BA status?

Does one need to check in hotel at all or it can be complete throwaway?

It should count as a BA flight, my booking as a basic member of the BAEC shows a predicted gain of 9170 avios and 360 tier points on the BA site for the four flights, flights being JFK LHR CDG LHR JFK.

Just booked LAX-FCO for 10 days (on AA 77W, no less) for $1,100 each. Unbelievable. Thank you to everyone here.

Chicago flights?

What were you able to find out of ORD and for roughly what dates? I've tried to CDG for a couple dates in July and had no luck.

"We are unable to complete your booking. Please call our customer service for assistance at 1-800-489-4810 and provide the booking number located under your itinerary."

Is this deal dead?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant in terms of the four flights on BA that are required for BA status, would BA metal on an AA ticket as an AA codeshare count as a BA flight?

Well, I got myself 3 round-trips booked before the deal got killed all over the summer in 2020 JFK to CDG. Two outbounds on BA 747s -- managed to get 62 A & K on the upper deck on those. I got one direct outbound. Two direct returns on American and one connecting through London on BA. Some of my prices were even lower than what was quoted. My trips were $1,248.01, $1,147.58 and $1,086.78. All trips booked into I* which yields 20% EQDs on AA marked flights, which means my direct flights will each get $727 EQDs and my connecting flights will get just a bit more than that.
