Finally
My outbound on AY101 is on April 29th, and at the moment isn't marked as cancelled in Manage My Booking.... but I suppose it's just a matter of time before the system catches up and they show it as canceled.
Anyway, as soon as it happens I will (begrudgingly) proceed with the cancel & refund option.

So much for being lucky with a flash sale...

So if they cancel the flight (I am flying on the 8th of April) we don't have to accept "fly by June 30th" and can ask for later in the year and not also accept a refund? I thought you had to take the refund if they push it? Thanks

Yes, if it's related to a cancelled flight, you can request any later date at your convenience (see relevant parts of EC261 listed below). There is nothing like extraordinary circumstances / 14-day rule for these parts of the regulation.
However, if they operate a flight and offer corona-related waivers, their latest date is what you can ask for.

Article 5

Cancellation
1. In case of cancellation of a flight, the passengers concerned shall:
(a) be offered assistance by the operating air carrier in accordance with Article 8;

Article 8

Right to reimbursement or re-routing
1. Where reference is made to this Article, passengers shall be offered the choice between:
(a) - reimbursement within seven days, by the means provided for in Article 7(3), of the full cost of the ticket at the price at which it was bought, for the part or parts of the journey not made, and for the part or parts already made if the flight is no longer serving any purpose in relation to the passenger's original travel plan, together with, when relevant,
- a return flight to the first point of departure, at the earliest opportunity;
(b) re-routing, under comparable transport conditions, to their final destination at the earliest opportunity; or
(c) re-routing, under comparable transport conditions, to their final destination at a later date at the passenger's convenience, subject to availability of seats.
2. Paragraph 1(a) shall also apply to passengers whose flights form part of a package, except for the right to reimbursement where such right arises under Directive 90/314/EEC.
3. When, in the case where a town, city or region is served by several airports, an operating air carrier offers a passenger a flight to an airport alternative to that for which the booking was made, the operating air carrier shall bear the cost of transferring the passenger from that alternative airport either to that for which the booking was made, or to another close-by destination agreed with the passenger.

So it would be possible to change the date of my flight to CAN (which is in April) to October?

Yes, assuming Finnair will follow the rules (which is where it can get tricky). Should they refuse to comply with the regulation, I would keep a proof of available seats for the days requested and follow up with European Consumer Centre in Finland, or in the country of flight origin (for EU citizens also a country of residence would be an option). It will most likely end up in Finland anyway as ECCs ask local offices for support in such cases. The next instance will be Civil Aviation Authority - here I'd try directly the CAA in the country of departure. Final option is taking the case to court (it may require purchasing new tickets and claiming the difference incl. interest).

Agent on chat refused to move my flight to October or November and said I have to goto the website and file a complaint under feedback!

Spoke to a lawyer now. It depends on when AY notified you of the cancellation. If they notified you more than two weeks before departure, then they can refuse to offer any rebooking and only offer a refund.
In other words, if they notified you more than two weeks before departure, it is completely at their discretion if they rebook you at all.

One option would be to rebook for the beginning of May, hoping those flights will be cancelled as well. And that in May, they will extend the rebooking period.
But of course, if they do fly in May, then you won't be able to get a full refund anymore.

Actually, I'm very unsure now. According to Wikipedia, the 2-week-rule is only about the compensation. I'm going to call another lawyer...

AY agent on the phone told me that he expects that the rebooking deadline will be extended.

I have a ticket blq-hel-can in April so now the flight to can is cancelled. So according to the rules I can rebook to Hkg I guess. Dropping blq-hel was possible as per somebody mentioned. My question is can I have the flight in April to Hkg and then return from either Hkg or can in June (or later), extending the ticket 30 days max stay ?

I think that should be fine. But I'd just ask AY.
