That is horrible. Do they not realise that it is now impossible to fly BLQ-HKG?

The Finnair waiver for Milan is only for travel between 26 Feb and 4 Mar. There are no Bologna flights on or before 4 Mar. Finnair has every right to wait and see before developing a policy, and even then it should be Milan customers first.

Considering HKG will deny entry to all passengers originating from BLQ (the subject of this forum thread), I think it is quite appropriate to address this issue now and not fob off passengers with a no change of city origination decision. This decision effectively makes the flight undoable anytime soon.

Unless the passenger transits immediately out of HKG without entering HKG and if AY allows the passenger on the plane. A big if but still possible technically. If anyone is originating from BLQ to HKG transiting to a third country - please post if you were able to board in HEL.

There are no AY Bologna flights in the whole of March to speak of

I don't know why everyone is panicking or worrying here. AY will reroute you, as they did for me the past 3 times. If you have to make plans 5 weeks out during this situation, your risk of loss is far greater on the other arrangements you are going to make, not this flight.

personally I am neither panicked nor worried. I would like to get things reorganised sooner rather than later tho and based on the new restrictions in HKG for those coming from Italy it does seem my booking needs to be changed. I don’t think radio silence from AY is particularly good.

There does seem to be commentary a few posts up that AY are actually not allowing you to drop the BLQ-HEL flight, but I hope that is just one duff agent.

the flights for my trip are the biggest “loss” as if AY won’t help and will only allow a refund I need to book something else.

Same here. They have replied today. My trip is 6 weeks away. How long should I wait for them to decide? The week before?

Hi,
At the moment all changes/cancellations goes by the ticket rules and unfortunately you have a non-changeable and non-refundable ticket type. But if you wish to cancel your booking there is a full refund. One possibility is to wait for a while as your flights isn't until April and see if any changes comes to the policy to change routing or dates because of the HKG restrictions.

I was due to fly 31st May BLQ-HKG....I had already accepted the 1hr 30 change for the HKG-HEL a long time ago but the agent still used this as the reason to fully process my refund and cancel the booking, just in case that is useful to anybody else.

Just received an email from Flugladen that they have canceled my HAJ-CAN ticket for Friday because "no alternative was offered by the airline."
Sigh. I wanted to rebook that flight, but I'm still hoping for the time frame to be extended...
