FWIW i think changing to start in HEL seems a reasonable request so I would hope AY agree, starting at LHR will probably meet with more resistance!

Second call lasted 38 mins, a little more upbeat though. Basically told to ring back in a week when it is less than t-28 days and they'll be able to do it no problem.

Edit, yeah, id imagine i could change it to HEL-HKG now but less TP's so a no goer for me

Update: I used the webchat and asked to cancel the first trip starting on 22th April. I explained the situation, but the agent used the 1h30m time change for the AY102 flight as "excuse" to allow cancellation with full refund.

Now I'll see how to manage the second booking - starting on 29th April - for which I had already requested a flight change from AY102 to AY100 due to the schedule change... but I am already glad to have solved at least the first booking.

I did the same 30 min ago and the agent did the same. Good thing that I put of the decision on rebooking that flight back.

Lefly I think I’m booked for one of the same dates as you. Of course no time changes on any of my flights to the best of my knowledge. Know for a fact that the CAN leg at least will almost certainly be cancelled but still waiting for an official determination

6 weeks to go, just want it over and done with so I can make different plans 😖

Same here! I usually like to plan very in advance so for my taste we're too close to the trip dates to be comfortable with this uncertainty...

Agree and same here. They can eek it out as much as they like with HKG but anything in China is going to be culled. It's like watching paint dry....

Certainly adds an unusual new point to the usual flash sale fare 10 step process

11) an outbreak of a new disease occurs. You sit obsessively checking health and government guidance and changing cancellation policies. Experienced FTers aren’t quite sure what to do either

LOL!

I’m actually trying to figure out what to do for Easter. My plan was to go to Hawaii, but now I’m a bit worried about potential travel restrictions. What if there’s suddenly an outbreak in a country I’ve recently traveled to and then I can no longer travel to the US? I asked some airlines and they said the best I could hope for would be a free rebooking to a future date, if anything at all, definitely not a refund. Not an ideal situation really...

For me it’s an easy alternative, bushfires and coronavirus related travel bans mean Australian small businesses are struggling, so this will be the year of domestic tourism I suspect! Not so good for the status credit count but I should be ok for renewal even without these flights

How late are they allowing us to change our tickets? I have my family going with me so don't think I can move to June. Will they allow October time do you think?

As of now, the latest they will do is June. I would wait as long as possible, hoping they'll extend it. I rebooked my last ticket the evening before departure, will do the same thing this weekend.

As I have positioning flights and a family coming with me I will unfortunately have to make the call this weekend and am away in June with work so was hoping for later this year.

What fare class did the flight you changed to June book into?
