Mine was through Orbitz and all segments booked as QLWPP558. Have you been able to confirm your seats? Orbitz just clears my choices and says nothing is confirmed, the LAN site just brings up a loading circle and the page never loads. LAN has my booking status as confirmed and ticket says available.

For the O versus Q debate, what kind of prices did the two of you pay?

Years ago I stayed at some mid-price hotel on Brazilian side.

Later, planning a trip for MomDad that never happened...
the obvious safe choice was the Sheraton on Argentine side.

I looked at spg.com, to my surprise they are showing rooms
in early December available for 10K points.

https://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/e...rlines/lan.jsp Does this not fall under "Other International" which seems to be 100% EQM earning?

I should get good miles. But I don't care. Going to izu for less than $500.

Some things are worth more than miles. This is one of them.

I saw the same booking code. I have upgrade coupons from LAN and that code doesn't apply to any of the fare codes that are listed on their site here: http://www.lan.com/en_us/sitio_perso...ups/index.html

Anyone have any idea if they qualify?

Managed to piece together a pretty good MR/vacation w/ stopovers, hopefully this helps people looking for more to do than seeing the falls.

JFK-SCL-GIG (9 hour layover in SCL; 4 nights in GIG)
GIG-IGU (2 nights in IGU)
IGU-GRU (afternoon and overnight in GRU)
GRU-SCL-JFK (another full day layover in SCL)

All for $571 and change. The long layovers in SCL are a bit annoying, but it's fairly easy to get into the city and back. Will probably get a day room somewhere to freshen up.

According to LAN.com, all flights book into O, so full earning Int'l but 25% intra-SA. Don't mind one bit considering that the JFK-SCL legs will net ~10,200 miles.

I'm with you on this. I'll probably get massacred for saying this here but I didnt even look at the mileage until after I booked. Brazil is at the top of my places to visit so for $500 the miles are just a bonus. Plus Im taking my fiance and I dont think she'd love the extra several hours of slumming around in coach.

Mine shows as O, and I have:
JFK-SCL-GIG-IGU-GIG-SCL-JFK
for $455.

For JFK-SCL, yes. But I have LAN flights SCL-GIG as well and those would count as 25% under "Within South America".

Stopover appears to be allowed. Was able to price it with more than 24 hours in GIG.

JFK-SCL-GIG <2 nights in GIG>
GIG-IGU-LIM-JFK

Fare is JFK-IGU but I'm only spending 90 minutes at IGU. My real destination is GIG.
Can you share dates on your trip? Try to stretch my GIG stay

(10/28 jfk-gig, 11/3 gig-igu 11/4 return) $567 ai

Wasn't going to jump as I've been to igu before, but I could spend some time in buzios in october and be quite happy.
