People, please edit/use the wiki so same questions are not always asked.

The current CTA decision on the Yangon deal is only for tickets canceled by SWISS Airlines for the seven merged complaints/companions and tickets canceled by Jet Airways for one complainant and companions
- It's not about other carriers because each carrier submits different tariffs.
- If you are not one of the complainants or their companions above who were mentioned in the respective cases, you need to submit a case yourself for hearing.
- There's currently one person who is on Iberia for CTA decision, one can either wait for results or submit a complaint to CTA.

Result of the current case for LX in brief is:
- CTA found 5(F) in the tariff used to be unclear for canceling tickets on erroneously quoted fares.
- 5(F) is unjust and unreasonable and must be revised or taken down by July 9, 2013 (or SWISS can appeal by then)
- SWISS did not use its tariff correctly to cancel the tickets.
- SWISS must compensate one complainant's First Class ticket and any related expenses by July 18, 2013 provided with evidence.
- SWISS must transport other complainants (and their companions) in the original price charged with same booking class and routing by June 18, 2014.

Result of the current case for 9W in brief is:
- Tariff on file had no clauses for "erroneous fares" and was updated subsequently, which means it is not relevant to this event
- Therefore, 9W is to reinstate the tickets with a 1-year validity for transport between the same points and the same booking class.

CTA official news can be read here for general overview of the case.

Actual CTA case review can be found here for reference should you wish to file a complaint.

If you have a similar case that's with SWISS, you need to file with CTA to get a result through informal process first before it gets to formal process. The entire procedure can take up to 3 months for each and the result may not be same cause it's case-by-base and the reviewer of the case can be different.

To file an informal complaint with CTA, see here. Click through all of the pages to get to the online form for the informal complaint. Or click here.

To file a formal complaint after informal complaint has been closed, see here. Continue on to the next page to see the address or email address for the formal complaint.

The July 17th and 18th responses from LX can be found here:

I just checked the Swiss website and my booking has reappeared, albeit without the Swiss segments. Last time I checked it showed as cancelled...

Maybe the CTA went to bat for me?

They are telling the truth, but only a half truth - they're hiding behind MH.

They are now saying yes, you can go, provided your ticket is used in sequence.

Guess what MH is saying?

So MH will deny boarding in RGN? Is that only for MH plated tickets or all?

Thanks for the updates ^^^^^

Yes - therefore, the info i got from SQ is moot if MH doesn't play ball.

Surely MH has the least revenue loss in this? They only taking people as far as SIN where as NH, AC, BA, SQ are all the long haul carriers.

Yes - they'd have the least revenue loss.

If i understand YY fares correctly - there's no preagreed fare unlike those issued by other airlines, therefore MH takes its' cut from the NUC - which would be the smallest of the lot.

I don't understand all this talk about MH, on whose ticket stock I have for RGN/KUL/AMS on MH biz class, and AMS/YUL on DL biz class operated by KLM. Haven't had a beep from MH in all this, and my ticket shows good on TL.com, MH and DL websites.

True. They would get only a percentage of the miles flown. So do you mean that MH has confirmed that they will deny boarding on these tickets or is this still on the discussion table?

I have just sighted the evidence.

I can only say this: SQ - good job in trying to screw over your neighbours.

Stop trying to look innocent pointing fingers everywhere.

The info is basically as what I posted.

I was just told by Swiss over the phone (USA number) that my RGN-KUL-SIN-FRA-ZRH-YUL ticket will be reinstated. The man I spoke with had a French accent and gave me an email to contact who would ensure it happened. Honestly I don't know whether to believe him, but I'm hopeful!

Is MH able to deny boarding on others plated tickets? If so, since its an SQ ticket wouldn't SQ be on the hook to do something about it?

Well, if LX knows the MH will deny boarding, its an easy decision to reinstate tickets with an MH starting leg.

Fair point. I would call MH to confirm my booking is in order before heading to RGN. My departure date is in a couple days so the CTA said they would contact Swiss despite the 30 day requirement.

If SQ is aware that MH will be denying boarding and SQ is not informing their customers of this (on SQ plated tickets), hiding behind this knowledge as a way to cancel tickets while acting innocent, etc... and there is written evidence of this, DOT, CTA, et al will be very interested.

No sign of that for mine. The whole trip has disappeared from TL for me. It used to show a trip ID with no ticket, not even the trip ID disappeared.
