People, please edit/use the wiki so same questions are not always asked.

The current CTA decision on the Yangon deal is only for tickets canceled by SWISS Airlines for the seven merged complaints/companions and tickets canceled by Jet Airways for one complainant and companions
- It's not about other carriers because each carrier submits different tariffs.
- If you are not one of the complainants or their companions above who were mentioned in the respective cases, you need to submit a case yourself for hearing.
- There's currently one person who is on Iberia for CTA decision, one can either wait for results or submit a complaint to CTA.

Result of the current case for LX in brief is:
- CTA found 5(F) in the tariff used to be unclear for canceling tickets on erroneously quoted fares.
- 5(F) is unjust and unreasonable and must be revised or taken down by July 9, 2013 (or SWISS can appeal by then)
- SWISS did not use its tariff correctly to cancel the tickets.
- SWISS must compensate one complainant's First Class ticket and any related expenses by July 18, 2013 provided with evidence.
- SWISS must transport other complainants (and their companions) in the original price charged with same booking class and routing by June 18, 2014.

Result of the current case for 9W in brief is:
- Tariff on file had no clauses for "erroneous fares" and was updated subsequently, which means it is not relevant to this event
- Therefore, 9W is to reinstate the tickets with a 1-year validity for transport between the same points and the same booking class.

CTA official news can be read here for general overview of the case.

Actual CTA case review can be found here for reference should you wish to file a complaint.

If you have a similar case that's with SWISS, you need to file with CTA to get a result through informal process first before it gets to formal process. The entire procedure can take up to 3 months for each and the result may not be same cause it's case-by-base and the reviewer of the case can be different.

To file an informal complaint with CTA, see here. Click through all of the pages to get to the online form for the informal complaint. Or click here.

To file a formal complaint after informal complaint has been closed, see here. Continue on to the next page to see the address or email address for the formal complaint.

The July 17th and 18th responses from LX can be found here:

Sure, go ahead... if whatever airline you are on has not realized this debacle, then they won't get it when you call either.

I think the do not call policy has been revoked given the event of the last two weeks.

C'mon maaa-an. Not on a regular basis but it does happen once in a while!

I think it is safe to call now, but why?

I don't normally request seat assignments until within one month for fully paid for F/C flights. Those cabins are usually pretty open and my plan may change. Also bear in mind that many foreign airlines don't allow seat assignments until 60-90 days before flight. That's for normal fully paid fares. For this type of special fares, I just assign seats online, or turn up at check in for seat assignment. There is no such thing as a bad seat in F/C.

I already assigned mine like on day 2 of the "deal", but my reason was I needed 3 in a row. Otherwise, I completely agree with Terry. On my flight, I snagged the last 3 adjacent F seats!

I was kinda kidding on my post. My IB plated, all seat assignments look good and show up on the seat maps on EF. Although even if SQ is going to honor i'm not on their stock and other operating airlines that have not been mentioned much might not like the idea of me flying.

I'm more nervous on my ticket plated by a USA based carrier as the seats that travelocity app lists don't exist on the metal of the airline i'm flying on but that flight is still almost 10 months away. I have booked non-refundable outbound ticket for this one.

Although I'm a fairly recent poster to flyertalk, I'm a long-time lurker, and, to me, it seems in comparison to trolling behavior on other forums the label "troll" is thrown around rather wantonly in these parts.

sorry, can't do. I will continue to post against some of comments on here which I feel make our arguments look uninformed and clutching at straws.

I want my tickets reinstated, I don't want that mucked up. pretty simple really.

As for the 1st Airline i mentioned - it was only communicated verbally to me.... at first. The "evidence" has now been sighted, and I can confirm for now the info is correct (hope they don't change their mind!)
That seems to fit well with TG typical slow corporate response. Barn doors and horses over the horizon.

SQ is very hard-nosed in protecting revenue AND its premium products. The approach described seems a very uncharacteristic. But good luck!

I flew on an SQ Plated Ticket (with two segments on SQ - albeit in J) from round one without any issues. ^ to SQ, to LX.

I agree that the term is tossed about all too wantonly and considering it is against FT TOS, as noted here, members are politely reminded to avoid such personal comments.

I don't think their approach is uncharacteristic at all. As mentioned earlier in this thread, SQ publicly stated last year, via a newspaper article, that it honors mistake fares.

BAD NEWS

Ok - remember what i said yesterday about SQ honoring it?

They are telling the truth, but only a half truth - they're hiding behind MH.

They are now saying yes, you can go, provided your ticket is used in sequence.

Guess what MH is saying?
