I just ordered a thousand dollars worth of girft checks for an upcoming trip that I expect will clock in right around 1000- it is only 5 nights. I got 20 x 50.00 certificates in the mail. Are you tellign me I won't be able to use them for this stay unless I check out and check back in? That seems a hassle for a 5 night stay.

I just completed some travel using Marriott Cheques, apparently there are two different kind of the floating around.. "Gift Cheques" and "Marriott Cheques", I dont think 90% of the hotel employees have a clue what to do with either of them. The Marriott Cheques (the ones you can order with Points as I assume you did) are suppose to be just like using cash at a Marriott. If you can charge it to your room, you can pay for it with the Cheques. I will DEFINITELY contact someone at the hotel prior to my next time traveling with them since everyone at the front desk looked at the like a forgein object. Beware, they will still put the pending charges on your credit card until you check out using the cheques. It was a pain in the tush!!

I was able to combinely use 15 Marriott $50 check and 8 $50 Marriott BBs for a 17 nights stay at a Residence Inn last month

I was able to use more without checking out and back in, they just ignored the alert and hit enter, it went through.:D

Multiple versions of Bonus Bucks have been reported in the past, but here's part of condition 3 on the rear of the certificate received this weekend at a FS Marriott:

"A maximum of three (3) Coupons may be applied to a stay. Back to back stays at the same location are considered one stay."

Also, part of condition 9 (the one precluding any rate that requires ID or membership): "This coupon cannot be used in conjunction with any other certificates, Marriott TravelCard(s), HoneymoonCard(s) VacationCard(s) and Cheques or reservations made online or using a travel agency."

Wholesale Prices of Bonus Bucks Increasing 5/1/2010

"Please be advised that Marriott has restructured the Bonus Bucks Program & Pricing. On May 1, 2010, our prices will increase $10.00 per $100 BB coupon and $5.00 per $50 BB coupon."

And you found this information out how? And how can the consuming public buy wholesale Bonus Bucks? What is the minimum number of bonus bucks which qualifies for a wholesale purchase?

socrates Apr 5, 2010 8:23 am

I'm not sure of where the OP's info is from...I've not seen anything on this topic come through

The buyer of wholesale BB can not use them. They must "give" them out as premium gifts/etc. If the buy uses them then they can be banned from purchasing additional ones.

Now all the BBs (both $100 and $50) with the expiration date later than July have the same restriction, Maximum 3 coupons per stay

I really miss the Premium Pounds :(. I wish Marriott would bring them back.

Vacations were a lot more fun in the Premium Pound days, especially when 100 Premium Pounds were worth about US$200. :p :p :p :p :p :p

Understood, but your reply still does not answer my three previous questions.

How was it found out that the wholesale price on Bonus Bucks is increasing?

How can the (consuming) public buy wholesale Bonus Bucks?

What is the minimum number of bonus bucks which qualifies for a wholesale purchase?
